Walk with me. Hand in hand through the nightmare of narrative, the neat sentences secret-nailed over meaning. Meaning mewed up like an anchorite, its vision in broken pieces behind the wall. reading more than writing (& reading little at that) but yeah i have been churning more words in my head than in the recent past.

I probably dont know what Im talking about but sometimes it seems to me that the best writing tells the best story and that authors who think too much and are too introspective screw up their story.

yr wrong to think that you don't know what you are talking about! you are a reader who has been alive to read longer than i have . . . yes introspection can get in the way at times but the excerpt i posted does not impede the narrative flow so much as form it.

well i enjoyed Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit (as a college assignment) and read the openings for a few of her other novels (none of which quite took me) but this one that i started recently i like a lot and plan to finish.

her essays are quite good . . .
