Just a quick entry with the newest chapter of "House of Pullip". :D
Chapter 225: In Which Ivy Rants...
*Ivy and Felix are talking on the phone…while standing a few feet away from each other*
Felix: Ivy…what are you doing?
Ivy: Well…I…thought that was obvious. *blush*
*Felix just stares at Ivy*
Ivy: You once said you would take me out…
Felix: When did I say that?
Ivy: You…you said if I won the bet then you would take me out yourself.
Felix: But you didn’t win.
Ivy: I know…I just thought…you might want to go out anyway…?
*Felix does not repond*
*Ivy hangs up her phone and turns away*
Ivy: *mumbles to herself* I guess not…
*Felix sighs and hangs up his phone, then he walks over to Ivy*
Felix: Ivy…it’s not a good idea.
Ivy: *shrugs* I don’t see why not.
Felix: We are just friends.
Ivy: Just…friends? *annoyed* I’ve heard that before…
Felix: But we are.
Ivy: It’s only a date, not a lifetime commitment.
Felix: *teases* Hey, stop using what I told you against me.
*Ivy is starting to feel very embarrassed*
Felix: Come on, Ivy…it’s not you, it’s me.
Ivy: Will you stop using every horrible rejection cliché to try to make me feel better? It’s not!
Felix: What?
Ivy: If I’m always “just friends” with every guy I meet, how am I ever supposed to find someone to be with? But every guy just wants that…I’m not worth more to anyone!
Felix: Hey, that’s not true!
Ivy: You just said so, don’t lie.
Ivy: And…and…it’s always “not me”…I don’t know how many times I’ve been told that. I know you are trying to make me feel better, but I feel like crap. I never thought you…would make me feel…bad.
Felix: I’m sorry.
*A long silence follows Ivy’s rant*
Ivy: …
Felix: …
*Ivy finally can’t stand it anymore*
Ivy: I have to go…
Felix: Ivy, we should talk about this more.
Ivy: No offence, Felix, but I don’t want to.
*She runs off before Felix can protest further*
Felix: *sighs and starts talking to himself* That was smooth, Felix…really smooth…you stupid idiot!

Here we are getting to the heart of Ivy's insecurities, she doesn't feel like she is worth much to any man...no one has ever showed much interest in her before. Of course she likes Felix, he is interested and he is nice to her...Felix should have expected it, but he didn't. Felix is still very closed off emotionally because of being cheated on by his last girlfriend, Ivy was taking a double risk by showing her interest in him--because it's always risky telling someone you "like" them and because he is still getting over his last relationship. Her rant about "rejection clichés" is a bit of joke on my part...I also heard them repeatedly during my dating years and after a while it got really hard to take them seriously...the "I only like you as a friend" one really started to annoy me. Ivy's rant is something I always wanted to do. :P However, it shows how much she trusts Felix to be able to rant at him after he just rejected her...however now she is just feeling even more humiliated and embarrassed, who wouldn't?
