I made an extra long chapter of "House of Pullip" today, I think it's a cute one so I hope you like it, too. :D
Chapter 267: Pixies
Crispin: …And he still has my pants.
*Oki laughs*
Crispin: Don’t laugh, those were my favorite jeans.
Oki: Oh, let him have them, we’ll get you some new ones.
Paige: *points out Oki* There she is. See how she loves animals? Imagine how she would be with a child.
Melodie: I don’t know…
Paige: Be strong, it’s the best thing for Penelope and the sooner you let go the better. It will only get harder the longer you wait.
Melodie: Okay...
*Paige approaches Oki and Crispin with Melodie reluctantly following*
Oki: Hi, Paige!
Paige: Hi, Oki…have you met my sister, Melodie?
Oki: We haven’t met, but I know you…how are you?
Melodie: *vaguely* Hello.
Oki: Would you like to…
*Oki voice trails off as she notices Penelope peeking out at her around Melodie’s leg*
Oki: *whispers* It’s a little pixie!
Paige: *does the talking when Melodie does not answer* Yes, her name is Penelope. We thought you might like to meet her.
Oki: Oh! I would!
Oki: Come here, sweetie…
*Penelope hesitates*
Melodie: It’s okay, Penelope, Oki is a pixie like you. Go on.
*Penelope goes to Oki*
Oki: Oh, you are so cute and sweet!
Penelope: *giggles*
*Paige and Melodie whisper to each other*
Paige: What do you think?
Melodie: They do seem to get along well…
Paige: Maybe we should ask Oki is she wants to look after Penelope?
Melodie: *hopeful* She might say no.
Paige: But she might say yes and if she does you need to be ready to hand her over.
Oki: *laughs* Oh, you are so darling! I’d like to meet your mom and dad…it’s not everyday I get to talk to other pixies.
Paige: Well, it’s funny you mention that, Oki, because…
Melodie: We don’t where her parents are. Penelope is all alone. I’ve been taking care of her.
Oki: No parents? Oh, that’s terrible!
Melodie: The thing is…well, it’s just I was wondering…um… *she can’t go on*
Paige: We would like to know if you would like to take care of Penelope.
Oki: *shocked* Me?
Paige: She’s a pixie…you’re a pixie…it makes sense.
Crispin: For how long?
Paige: It might be for good. She really needs parents and we’d like to keep her at this house…so Melodie can see her as often as she likes.
*Melodie nods*
Oki: You want me…to be her mommy?
Meloide: Yes.
Crispin: This is a big decision…maybe you should think it over first…or we should talk about it…
Oki: No, there is nothing to talk or think about, my mind is made up.
Crispin: Oki, this isn’t like one of the animals, this is a person…
Oki: I know, but I want to take care of her. I love her already!
Paige: Oki, you’re sure this is what you want?
Oki: Yes, if Penelope wants to stay with me.
Melodie: Penelope, come here.
Melodie: Oki would like to take care of you and be your mommy. Would you like that?
*Penelope nods*
Melodie: Then you can stay with her. But…I’ll come visit you if that’s okay with you…
*Penelope hugs Melodie*
Penelope: I love you.
Melodie: *sob* Oh…sweetie…I love you, too. Now, go see your new mommy. She’ll take good care of you.
*Penelope runs to Oki, who dotes on her while Crispin looks on feeling unsure about this whole thing…Paige and Melodie whisper to each other again*
Paige: Are you going to be okay?
Melodie: I’ll be fine…I know it’s the right thing to do, I can see that now.
Paige: You did very well, I’m so proud of you.

Now that Melodie sees that others can love the little ones as much as she can, she's not feeling so bad about having to give them up. Don't get me wrong, she's still sad and feeling a sense of loss, but she's in a good place to accept it now. However...it's not yet a happily ever after...Crispin isn't sold on the idea of Oki being a mommy...at all. :o
Also, I was able to make another dress yesterday. herroyaldemones sent me some fabric so I used some of it to sew Bailey this new dress (of my own design!):
I'm really happy with this even though the sleeves aren't quite right (I always have the hardest time with sleeves...*sigh*). I like that it's high waisted, it's a good look for Bailey (or Piper if she wears it). I made it long on purpose.
