Chapter 268: Things Are Changing
*Sebastian has just arrived at “The Sweet Shoppe”*
Sebastian: How are you today, my dear?
Kiki: I’m wonderful!
Sebastian: I noticed a new sign on your door…it says, “Help Wanted”.
Kiki: That’s right.
Sebastian: I thought you always ran this store on your own.
Kiki: I did, and I was proud of that. But I think it’s time I accepted that I need help.
Sebastian: I can help you.
Kiki: That’s really nice of you, but I want to hire someone so I can spend more time with you.
Sebastian: You do not have to do that.
Kiki: I think I do. You are the first man I’ve been with makes me want to spend less time here.
Sebastian: Really?
Kiki: Yes…but don’t let it go to your head. I have other reasons, too.
Kiki: My business has grown so much in the last year that I just can’t keep up with it anymore on my own, I really do need help. This way I won’t have to sacrifice my social life and I will also have more time to spend away from the store on business as well. I’m making enough profit to support the wages for another person.
Sebastian: You seem to have given this a lot of thought.
Kiki: Yes. I think this has been coming for a while. I just hope I can find a good worker, someone I can trust. I think that will be the hardest part.
Sebastian: Please let me know if I can help you…and I’ll make sure your time away from the store is not time wasted.
Kiki: I’m counting on that!
Elsewhere…
*Oki and Penelope are playing together*
Oki: Come on Crispin, come play with us!
Crispin: No thank you.
Oki: You should get to know Penelope.
Crispin: I will.
*Oki and Penelope keep playing*
Crispin: *sigh*
Meanwhile…
Sabrina: So…was that fun?
Ronan: I thought roller skating was for children.
Sabrina: Why should children get to have all the fun?
Ronan: I suppose you have a point.
Sabrina: Are you feeling better?
Ronan: A little.
Sabrina: Good…but you seem distracted.
Ronan: I’m just thinking…why do I like Melodie? I hardly know her.
Sabrina: I don’t know…why do you like her?
Ronan: That’s just it, I don’t know. I think she is pretty.
Sabrina: *shrugs* Well, she is pretty.
Ronan: But that’s not a reason to like someone!
Sabrina: It’s not?
Ronan: No. I should have been her friend longer first.
Sabrina: Where have I heard that before?
Ronan: I know, you tried to tell me.
Sabrina: Maybe there are some things you have to figure out yourself.
*Ronan kisses Sabrina’s cheek*
Sabrina: What did you do that for?
Ronan: To thank you for helping me. I know I am a slow learner, but I do appreciate it.
Sabrina: Oh…no problem.
Ronan: I have to go now, but I will see you again soon.
Sabrina: Sure…sure.
Sabrina: Maybe he’s not as hopeless as I thought…maybe… *laughs*

Here's is Laszlo with my other newest doll, Taryn. I believe they are brother/sister...more about that coming in my story sometime soon (the nice things is I totally know how I want to work them in right away, that's always fun).
