Chapter 274: Getting to Work
Kiki: She’s starting today; I’m expecting her any minute.
Sebastian: I sincerely hope this works out well for you…and I.
Kiki: Oh…so do I.
*Taryn enters “The Sweet Shoppe”*
Kiki: Taryn! I’m so glad you are here.
Taryn: Thank you…I hope I’m not late.
Kiki: No, you are right on time.
*Taryn notices Sebastian and can’t help staring*
Kiki: Oh…this is Sebastian. He’s my…my…well, “boyfriend” isn’t really the right word.
Sebastian: How about “significant other”?
Kiki: That’ll do. Anyway Taryn, this is Sebastian and he’s around here a lot so you might as well meet him now.
Sebastian: It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss.
Taryn: Oh…uh…it’s nice to meet you, too.
Sebastian: I should go now, my dear, but I will see you later this evening.
*He kisses Kiki’s hand*
Kiki: Bye, see you later!
*Sebastian leaves*
Taryn: *staring in his direction* You’re really going out with that guy?
Kiki: Yes. Is something wrong?
Taryn: No. He’s just…wow.
Kiki: *laughs* I know, he’s the last of a dying breed, that’s for sure.
Kiki: So, Taryn, do you live near here?
Taryn: Yes, I just moved around the corner in this big house.
Kiki: Really, you live there? That’s where Sebastian lives.
Taryn: He lives there?
Kiki: Well, it’s a big house and a lot of people live there. He’s here a lot so I wouldn’t be surprised if you hadn’t run into him yet.
Taryn: I don’t know many people there yet. Do you?
Kiki: Yes, I have a lot of friends there.
Taryn: But you don’t live there?
Kiki: No, I live here at the store. There’s a kitchen and a few small rooms in the back.
Taryn: You should move to the house!
Kiki: I have considered it but…well…I’m still thinking about it. You are really lucky to live there.
Taryn: It does seem nice.
Kiki: Well, let’s get to work. I have a lot to show you today.
Taryn: *eagerly* I’m so excited!

Taryn is only mesmerized by Sebastian because she's never seen anything like him before (except maybe in her imagination). She's not love with him or anything...but maybe a tiny bit intimidated. :P Also, Kiki is still thinking of possibly moving to the house, this particular question has not been forgotten and will come up again in future chapters.
Also, I'm planning to send Cameron home today so I took one last chance to get a few photos before I pack him up for his trip home. The weather is still wet, cloudy, and rainy so the light wasn't the best for these shots but I think they turned out okay:
Penelope and Cameron are feeling a tiny bit melancholy about this parting...
...but they'll be okay. They'll always be friends and I'm sure they'll see each other again. ;)
I did a black and white profile shot of these two, Cameron on the left and Penelope on the right.
Cameron had to say goodbye to Rayna and Nicholai. He is very fond of them (and still calls Nicholai "Daddy" :P ) and they are fond of him...even though he barges in on their more, er, intimate moments, lol!
One more Lati shot, everyone is going to miss Cameron!
