Here is the newest chapter of "House of Pullip"! I will have another chapter either tomorrow or Saturday...promise. ;)
Chapter 283: On Your Own
*Laszlo and a reluctant Shiloh approach Melodie and Paige*
Laszlo: Hi there!
Paige: Hello, you must be new here.
Laszlo: Yes, I…
Melodie: *gasp* Oh my!
Laszlo: Huh?
Melodie: You’re having a baby!
Laszlo: No I’m not! Oh…you mean Shiloh here…
Shiloh: *blush* Yes, I’m having a baby.
Melodie: *to Laszlo* You must be so proud.
Laszlo: Uh…me? Oh, wait…no, no, no…I’m not the father!
Shiloh: No, this is just a friend of mine, his name is…
Melodie: Who is the father then?
Shiloh: My husband, Hawk.
Melodie: Oh yes, the man with the goggles.
*Laszlo laughs*
Laszlo: And you are…?
Melodie: *doesn’t hear Laszlo* When is the baby coming?
*Shiloh and Melodie keep talking, Laszlo isn’t sure what to do next*
Paige: You must forgive my sister; she loves children so she get easily distracted by them.
Laszlo: Oh, that’s okay. You’re sisters?
Paige: Well, half-sisters anyway. My name is Paige and that’s Melodie.
Laszlo: You must be older.
Paige: Actually, I’m younger.
Laszlo: Really?
Paige: Melodie is very unaffected and innocent, it makes her appear young.
Laszlo: Gotcha. I’m Laszlo, by the way.
Paige: Welcome to the house.
Laszlo: Thanks!
Elsewhere…
Kiki: I liked meeting your brother the other day.
Taryn: He’s a good guy. Oh, guess what?
Kiki: What?
Taryn: He decided to move into that house where I live! It’s great having him so much closer now…I missed him.
Kiki: That’s wonderful, I’m happy for you, Taryn.
Taryn: You could still move there, too, you know.
Kiki: I’m still considering it…but I don’t know…
Taryn: Why not?
Kiki: It’s a long story.
Kiki: Never mid that now. Today is the day!
Taryn: What?
Kiki: I think you are ready to mind the store on your own this afternoon while I take care of some things elsewhere.
Taryn: Are you sure?
Kiki: I’m sure…but you don’t sound so sure.
Taryn: I just don’t want to let you down.
Kiki: You’ll do fine. And I’ll have my phone with me. If you need anything…and I mean anything…please just call, you won’t be bothering me.
Taryn: Okay…okay, I’m ready.
Kiki: You’ll do great, you’ll see!
To be continued...
Ever get the feeling that Melodie is completely oblivious to men? :P
Also...
I went shopping yesterday and had some great success finding an outfit for the singing on Saturday! I'm so happy it went well, because I'm short it's sometimes hard to find things.
I bought some slacks first, which is funny because pants are usually really hard to find. My legs are really short. The proportion of my body is long torso, short legs...and since I'm short my legs are that much shorter. :P Petite sections are my best friends when shopping so I went straight there. The first trousers I tried on were a bust, but then I put this pair on and...yeah. They make my hips look smaller and my legs look longer which is perfect. They are kind of a charcoal grey color.
I was hoping to get my whole outfit in one store, but that first store didn't really have any tops that interested me. I wanted color and I don't know what was up but the colors were kind of muted and drab there. I wasn't feeling it so I just bought the pants. The next store had just what I wanted, some really nice colors. The bad, bad thing is the top that caught my eye right off the bat was a cashmere sweater. What's bad about that? Cashmere = $$$$$ *sigh* But I tried it on and it looked and felt so fabulous I just had to buy it (don't tell my husband :P I blew my entire outfit budget with just that one item). It's this great blue color and it looked good even with the jeans I had on at the time, plus I could picture myself wearing it with a skirt I have so versatile is good. I know I will use it later on so I think (*hope*) I got my money's worth. Oh yeah, and it has a v-neck, just like you guys recommended. ;)
Then I went shoe shopping, that was the hardest. I think I was at the store for an hour at least and I'm pretty sure I tried on every pair of heels they had that came in my size. :P I even tried the pointy toed heels to make my legs look longer (yeah...that's from What Not to Wear) but it was too much, I couldn't handle it. Finally though I found some peep-toe heels that had a pin striped pattern on them that I liked, didn't hurt my feet (very important), and I could walk in...ha ha! Again, I can wear these with other things I have so that's good.
I got home and it was time for the moment of truth...I tried everything on together. Honestly, I put it on, looked in the mirror, and felt like a million dollars. It's casual but very nice, I don't think I'll feel overdressed for the social on Saturday and I won't be worrying about looking lame while I'm singing. Thanks for everyone who took a minute to share a little advice with me because it helped me organize my thoughts and have an idea of what to look for when I went shopping and that made it so much easier. If I can manage it I will try to get a photo if you are interested so you can see how I did. :D
