Photo Story
Yay, new chapter of "House of Pullip" ready for today! This is helping me stay sane during the holidays which are threatening to make me crazy... :P
A little background refresher before we begin (because sometimes these details seem to confuse my readers): Sebastian, Madison, Sabrina, Ronan, and Crispin all come from the same magical kingdom before they came to live at "the house". Madison had her power stolen by an evil sorcerer and Sabrina was born without magic (kind of like a squib in Harry Potter's world) so neither of them can do magic, but the rest can. Madison and Sebastian are royalty, brother and sister, Sabrina is their cousin. When Sabrina was a child, Sebastian took her to live in the palace with them so that she could have a good life, although they really don't like each other (Sabrina thinks Sebastian is stuffy, Sebastian thinks Sabrina is a loose cannon...etc.). All of my "magical" characters are immortal, even Sabrina. Kiki only recently found out that Sebastian is immortal (she isn't, obviously, she's just a regular person) and she's still a little bit unsure of what to think of that...
Now, on with the story (but if you have any questions about any of this stuff, just ask, I'd be happy to clear it up if it's still confusing). :D

Chapter 286: Magical Life
*Kiki is on her way to see Sebastian, she runs into Madison*
Madison: Kiki! How lovely to see you again.
Kiki: It’s nice to see you, too.
Madison: On your way to see Sebastian?
Kiki: *blush* Yes.
Madison: He is so fond of you, Kiki.
Kiki: Madison…can I ask you something? I’m sorry; it’s kind of personal…
Madison: *concerned* Of course.
Kiki: How…how old are you?
Madison: Oh…didn’t Sebastian talk to you about this?
Kiki: Well, he did, but only after I found out about it from someone else.
Madison: *sigh* You have to excuse Sebastian, he’s a man and he doesn’t always think about these things. He should have discussed this with you long ago but you should not let it worry you.
Kiki: I’m not…I mean…okay, I do worry about it but I’m trying not to make a big deal about it. Still…I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m going to get older, he’s not. I don’t see why he’d want to be with me when that happens.
Madison: I understand. I have similar worries. Alex is mortal, too, and I’m not. I don’t know what’s going to happen with us either. Alex doesn’t worry about it as much as I do…maybe it’s a man thing?
Kiki: So you…you’re immortal, too?
Madison: Yes. I don’t know my exact age, it becomes tiresome to keep track after a while.
Kiki: Yes…Sebastian said the same thing.
Madison: Try not to worry, Kiki. Sebastian loves you. Somehow you can work through this, surely?
Kiki: Yes…yes, it will be okay…
Later…
Ronan: Oh, look. There’s Sebastian with Miss Kiki. Let’s go say hello to them.
Sabrina: *snort* You go. I’ll be here when you get back.
Ronan: Please come.
Sabrina: What do I want to talk to Sebastian for? You know how I feel about him. I have nothing against his girlfriend...except I question her judgment in men...
Ronan: Why do you dislike him so much?
Sabrina: I told you before I don’t want to talk about it?
Ronan: I thought we were friends. You can tell me, I really want to know.
Sabrina: You wouldn’t understand.
Ronan: Try me.
Sabrina: No.
Ronan: I just want to understand you, Sabrina. He gave you a good life.
Sabrina: I don’t like feeling like I owe him something.
Ronan: You don’t own him anything, I just thought you’d like him more considering what he did for you as a child.
Sabrina: Oh yes, perfect Sebastian can do no wrong. Everyone should like him, is that what you are saying?
Ronan: I never said he was perfect.
Sabrina: Hmpf.
Ronan: You know he isn’t perfect; there must be something else that you don’t like about him.
Sabrina: It’s not just him…
Ronan: Please tell me what it is.
Sabrina: You won’t like it.
Ronan: I want to know.
Sabrina: Fine! He’s a sorcerer, okay? He has the magical gift just like everyone else back in the kingdom…everyone except me! I’m some sort of…freak!
Ronan: *alarmed* You are not a freak.
Sabrina: *sniff* Yes, I am. All I want…all I ever wanted…was to be magical. Everyone back home just loved Sebastian. Hardly anyone loved me.
Ronan: I always just…assumed…you didn’t want to be magical. That’s how you always acted.
Sabrina: That was the point, Ronan. No one was supposed to know that’s what I wanted, it would only have made me weaker then I already was…am.
Ronan: You aren’t weak.
Sabrina: Yeah…right.
Ronan: …
Sabrina: Don’t you dare tell Sebastian any of this!
Ronan: Of course not.
Sabrina: Now leave me alone.
Ronan: But…
Sabrina: You heard me, Ronan. I want to be alone now. I mean it. Just…go away.
Ronan: As you wish.
*Ronan hesitates. He wants to say something to make Sabrina feel better but isn’t sure how to say it*
Sabrina: I thought I told you to go away?
Ronan: *sigh* Alright, I’m leaving. But I think we need to talk about this more later.
Sabrina: Not likely and you can’t make me.
*Ronan reluctantly leaves*
Sabrina: *sigh* Well, there goes that friendship…I should have known it would never last…

First up, the age/immortality thing with Sebastian is still on Kiki's mind, she just doesn't want to worry Sebastian by bringing it up all the time. Also, I like it when Sabrina is vulnerable. She's assuming Ronan won't want to be her friend anymore because Ronan is a sorcerer and in her mind nobody magical would want to associate with her on a long term basis (the only exception is Madison, but she feels like Madison can understand her better since she's isn't magical anymore). Hope that all makes sense. Again, please ask if it's confusing, I don't mind explaining...this story has become so long and complicated that even I have trouble remembering all the details sometimes. :P
I'm feeling a tiny bit overwhelmed right now...it happens every year, I just can't seem to avoid it... *sigh* But I do plan on sending out a few dolly related gifts this year to some of my online friends, but I'm most likely going to be late getting those out. I'm only saying this because I don't want anyone thinking I don't care. I do care...I'm just stressed, I'm sure at least a few of you can relate. :O
Edited to add: IT'S SNOWING!!!!! I LIVE IN SOUTHERN TEXAS AND IT'S FREAKIN' SNOWING!!!
Ahem...yes, that did deserve caps lock because snow here is like hell freezing over or something. I've lived here for five and a half years, never seen snow here. We moved here from Colorado, good snowy winters there. Dang, I miss the snow. It's not much and it's not sticking or anything but dang, it's cool! (The high yesterday was 78, I kid you not...that's nuts).
