Yay, a new "House of Pullip" chapter, I hope you enjoy it. :D
Chapter 324: I Understand
Nicholai: There you are!
Rayna: Nicholai…
*Rayna runs up and hugs him*
Nicholai: *smiles* This is nice.
Rayna: I’m just happy to see you. You help calm my doubts.
Nicholai: Is something wrong?
Rayna: I don’t deserve you…
Nicholai: Hey now, what kind of talk is that?
Rayna: There’s something I need to tell you. But please don’t get angry…at least, not until I’m done telling you everything I have to say.
Nicholai: *worried* Okay…
Rayna: I saw Sebastian again.
Nicholai: Well, he does live here. It’s bound to happen.
Rayna: But all those old feelings popped up again. I hate myself for still thinking about him that way…I don’t want him really. I’m with you! You’re the one I want to be with.
Nicholai: I don’t see the problem.
Rayna: He has a new girlfriend…she’s beautiful and sweet. I tried not to be jealous because I am happy for him…but I couldn’t help it.
Nicholai: …
Rayna: And I feel terribly guilty for even thinking all of this when I have you and you are so wonderful to me. I’m sorry…
Nicholai: Are you done?
Rayna: Yes.
Nicholai: I’m not mad.
Rayna: You should be.
Nicholai: Then let me tell you something…do you think I don’t feel those same twinges of past love when I see Bo?
Rayna: I hadn’t thought of that…
Nicholai: It’s not something you can just turn on and off. So, I understand, Rayna. I’ve always understood you like you understand me.
Rayna: Why didn’t you tell me this before?
Nicholai: I was afraid it might upset you; just like you were afraid it might upset me.
*Rayna nods*
Nicholai: We belong together. I’ve always thought that.
Rayna: I really don’t deserve you. You’re too good!
Nicholai: No more of that talk. You’re the one I want. I can’t tell you how happy these past months have made me.
Rayna: I do love you, I promise.
Nicholai: I know, and I love you.
Nicholai: I have an idea though…something that might help both of us.
Rayna: What?
Nicholai: I’ve been offered an apprenticeship with a world renowned herbalist…in South America.
Rayna: You’re…leaving?
Nicholai: No! I’d never go anywhere without you. I’m just wondering if you’d like to come with me. Maybe it would be nice for both of us to get away for a while…together.
Rayna: Leave here? This is our home…
Nicholai: It wouldn’t be permanent; we could always come back when we feel the time is right. I’m under no obligation to stay longer then I want...then we want.
Rayna: I don’t know…my job and my friends…I…just don’t know.
Nicholai: It’s just something to think about. Like I said, I won’t go without you, but if you feel like you want to get away then this might be a good way to do it.
Rayna: It is tempting. Can I think about it?
Nicholai: Absolutely, there’s no rush.

Background refresher: Nicholai is an herbalist, but there is always more he can learn from people who are more experience and have been doing it longer. Also, lest you think I'm trying to get rid of Rayna and Nicholai, I'm not. If they "leave" they won't really be leaving, just taking a break from the story, which is part of the actual story (so there would be a point to them leaving and then coming back).
Anyway, I love Rayna with Nicholai. In real life they look so incredibly sweet together, I wish my photos did them justice. But their difference in skin tones makes it really difficult. Personality-wise I think they mesh really well. Nicholai is this nice loner who is very intelligent and really sweet. Rayna is the tough-as-nails sword fighter but also has this innocent and vulnerable side (which Nicholai loves, by the way).
Just one extra photo, I took apart Madeline's new dress and remade the skirt part:
I made the top section fuller (but maybe a tad too full, heh) and the under white part a bit shorter so that it doesn't stick out so much. I like it better, but the design still needs some fine tuning. Still, I'm having fun with it which is the most important part...plus Madeline still looks completely adorable. :P
