Chapter 341: Opportunity Knocks
*Ivy and Laszlo are out on their date together*
Laszlo: You are talking more tonight…
Ivy: You told me to, it was part of the deal, remember?
Laszlo: Yes, and you’ve kept up your end of the bargain beautifully.
Laszlo: You are more interesting then you give yourself credit for.
Ivy: *blush* Thank you.
Laszlo: I’d like to keep seeing you if that’s okay with you.
Ivy: Well…
Laszlo: Is it a bad idea? I thought…
Ivy: No, it’s not what you are thinking. I want to keep seeing you, Laszlo. But there’s a problem…
Laszlo: What is it?
Ivy: You know I’m going to school, right?
Laszlo: Yes, I think it’s great that you went back.
Ivy: It’s been a good decision…I want to study fashion design but there aren’t any good schools for that around here.
Laszlo: Oh…
Ivy: I applied to a good school that out of state…and…I got accepted.
Laszlo: And you are going.
Ivy: I think I should.
Laszlo: I think you should, too. Not because I want to get rid of you, I just think it’s a good opportunity.
Ivy: It’s a great opportunity! And…more then that…I need to get out on my own and gain some confidence. It might sound cliché, but I need to find myself.
*Laszlo smiles*
Ivy: I wanted you to know…before we got…more involved. That wouldn’t be fair…to get close and then just leave. It would be too hard…and I need to do this alone without any strings attached.
Laszlo: Of course I’m sad you are leaving, but I still think it’s a good idea for you to do this. I just have one question…
Ivy: Yes?
Laszlo: Are you going to come back?
Ivy: *smiles* Yes, that’s my plan. I already have a job lined up with the company I’ve been modeling for. They said they’d hire me right away…as soon as I get the right training.
Laszlo: I would say I will wait for you but that sounds wrong.
Ivy: Don’t wait for me…I’m going to be gone for a while. It would not be fair for me to expect you to wait.
Laszlo: We aren’t…involved enough to wait for each other.
Ivy: Exactly.
Laszlo: But…if you come home and we both happen to still be available…well…I don’t think I’ll complain.
Ivy: Me neither.
Laszlo: Then I wish you the best of luck…and a speedy return.
Ivy: Thank you.
*They smile at each other*

Again...just like with Rayna and Nicholai, Ivy is not going "away" meaning out of my house. She is only leaving temporarily as part of the story but she is definitely staying...I love her so much. :D As far as the story and character goes, I think this is a wise choice by Ivy, she needs to do things on her own for a while and grow a bit before she is ready to get into a relationship. I think her experiences with Felix taught her that. Laszlo doesn't really want her to go, he really does like her...but he also knows this is good for her and won't get in the way of her leaving. He's a good guy... ;)
Also, I have a little surprise--I bought the Puki I wanted! I really lucked out, when I was ready to buy DDE had exactly what I wanted in stock and ready to ship so it only took two days for her to get here after I paid. Awesome! Anyway, she arrived today...check her out:
She's a Puki Madeline. She came in with natural skin and a Fairyland face up. Her wig is the spare Lati white one I had lying around that came when I bought Eli.
She is nifty to pose and she can wear the clothes I have for Penelope (my Lati white SP). I'm going to play with her posing more later but it's neat that she can do something as simple as this without support.
She came with purple eyes. I can't tell you how ecstatic I am about this, it's exactly what I wanted. Yay! Sorry these aren't the best photos, I'll try to get better ones soon (the light was not the greatest when she got here and I didn't want to wait to take the photos). :P
I have tentatively named her Petal, in honor of Earth Day. I thought it was neat she arrived today and wanted to give her a nature-ish type name to remember it by.
One more, just for fun and my own amusement--how the Fairyland Puki box (red) compares to the Lati white box (blue). That's just...crazy! The Lati white is smaller then a Puki. I always thought the Lati boxes were nuts, but this seals it. I think Lati could learn a few things about boxes from Fairyland...and think of how happy the Lati customers would be to save on shipping? Well, one can dream, right? :P
