Chapter 342: Don't Freak Out
Zander: Are you feeling better? You look a little happier at least.
Grace: Yes, I’m alright. I miss Jonas, though…
Zander: Understandable.
Grace: Zander, you’ve been a good friend lately. I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate it.
Zander: No problem.
Grace: Can I repay you somehow?
Zander: I can think of a few things…
Grace: *confused* What do you mean?
Zander: Will you let me take you out? I promise I’ll show you a good time.
Grace: Out…on a date?
Zander: Yeah.
Grace: Oh…no, no…that’s a bad idea.
Zander: Why? I’ve liked you for a really long time…please just give me a chance.
Grace: You’ve liked me…Zander! You’re my brother-in-law! Ew!
Zander: Hey, don’t freak out!
Grace: This is so wrong! Of course I’m going to freak out!
Zander: I’m not your brother-in-law anymore…we aren’t related at all. I don’t see the problem.
Grace: I have a problem with it, doesn’t that matter to you?
Zander: I mean, yeah it matters, but I still don’t think it’s that big of a deal.
Grace: Maybe it doesn’t matter to you. But to me you are still…my brother.
Zander: But I’m not.
Grace: So? I still see you that way!
Grace: Not only that but now I feel like you only pretended to be my friend lately so you could…make your move on me or something. *shudders*
Zander: That’s not true!
Grace: Regardless…I can’t really look at you right now without feeling slightly…ill.
Zander: Come on! You’re overreacting now.
Grace: Probably. But I’m not going to apologize for that to a player like you. Just leave me alone, Zander!
*Grace runs off*
Zander: Maybe I’ll have a better chance if I let her cool off a little?
Voice: I wouldn’t count on it.
*Zander turns toward the voice and sees…*
Bo: You should give up now before you make it worse.
Zander: What the…?

Anyway, Zander does have a small point...he and Grace aren't related (background refresher: Grace's deceased husband was Zander's older brother). There isn't anything inherently "wrong" with what he is suggesting. But there is one major problem he didn't take into consideration...Grace doesn't like the idea. At all. In situations like this, it's only good to proceed if both parties like the idea. Otherwise, it's best just not to go there. But tact has never been one of Zander's strong points and his approach to Grace was all wrong. He just botched the whole thing to the point where I'm not sure he can ever recover in Grace's eyes.
Were you surprised to see Bo at the end? The next chapter should be fun... :P
