Chapter 382: Consultation
Nicholai: You look a lot happier now.
Rayna: Now that I know there are other kids here, ones that won’t stare at Tati…yeah, I’m a lot better.
Nicholai: Should we see Sebastian now?
Rayna: Are you sure you’re…okay with that?
Nicholai: He would know best and we can’t avoid him forever.
A Little While Later…
Rayna: Sebastian?
Sebastian: *surprised* Rayna?
Rayna: Um…hi…
Sebastian: This little lady cannot be yours!
Rayna: *blush* Yeah…yeah, she is.
Sebastian: She is a beautiful child!
Nicholai: Thank you.
Rayna: We really wanted your opinion on her ears…
Sebastian: Her ears?
Rayna: Yes, they are…unusual.
Sebastian: I will admit I did not even notice until you just mentioned it.
Nicholia: We don’t know why they look like that and the doctors in South American couldn’t explain it.
Sebastian: Could it be an inherited trait?
Rayna: Certainly not from Nicholai’s side of the family…but I don’t even know who my parents are…there’s no way I’ll ever know.
Sebastian: Her ears appear elf-like to me.
Rayna: You think one of my parents was an elf?
Sebastian: Probably not, but perhaps one of your more distant ancestors. Elves are known to mix with humans and pirates often journey to those far reaches where elves are more likely to be found.
Nicholai: All the doctors want to do is fix it and make her “normal”.
Rayna: I don’t think I can do that…her ears are…just that way. Why should she have to fix them? People should learn not to stare.
Sebastian: I am sorry people stare, but here it should not be like that so much. There are quite a few other children; she should not have any trouble making friends.
Rayna: *smiles* So I’ve been told.
Sebastian: It is good to see you, Rayna.
Rayna: I’m glad to be back.
Sebastian: I am getting married very soon; I would like you to attend, please? You are all invited.
Rayna: Oh…congratulations! We’d love to come to your wedding.
Sebastian: Thank you.
Tati: Pretty hair.
Sebastian: Thank you, miss…?
Rayna: Oh, Tatiana. Her name is Tatiana…or we just call her Tati.
Sebastian: Thank you, Miss Tati…you are very pretty, too.
*Tati smiles*

Just a quick background refresher, Rayna used to be a pirate and her mother is a pirate but she never knew her or her father. That's why it's possible that she might carry some elf genes. Anyway, I'm not going to dwell on Tati's ears...they are just that way and everyone will deal with it. :P As Sebastian said, he's getting married very soon...let's get to that, shall we? ;)

Here is another family photo of Rayna, Nicholai, and Tati...but it's just their hands. You can really see their unique skin tones in this photo. It also reminds me a tiny bit of herroyaldemones's "Dolly Diversity" icon. :P
