I did a lot of work on Melodie's hair yesterday after I posted her first set of photos. Here is a new photo showing how her hair looks now:
I washed and conditioned her hair, then I used some leave-in conditioner spray to give it even more shine and make it manageable to comb out. Next, I ironed her bangs. I had them pinned up yesterday so you never got to see how bad they really looked...but it was bad. They are much improved now, but still not perfect. You can see how on the left side they look nice but they are still sticking up on the right side. I must have tried to iron them down a dozen times, I have no idea why they are still sticking up...but it is an improvement so I'll live with it for now (but I will work more on it later because it's still bugging me :P ). Then, I ironed out the back part of her hair. It's not perfectly straight but the remaining wave is much prettier than it was. Before it was frizzy and kinked on the ends, now it's smooth and shiny :D What do you think? I'm highly satisfied except for her bangs...
Now, on to the next chapter of "House of Pullip". Not much is going on right now, but I promise more "action" very soon. These chapters I've been doing lately are necessary to set up future plot elements so they may be more boring but needed...bear with me please :P
Chapter 60:
*Annike is outside reading, Lucas approaches her*
Lucas: Hey, Nika!
Annike: Hi Lucas, still mulling over your dream?
Lucas: My dream? Oh that…nah…it was just a dream.
Annike: *snicker*
Lucas: Hey, guess what?
Annike: What?
Lucas: I have an audition lined up for another band. I’m leaving in a few days to try out.
Annike: …
Lucas: Is something wrong?
Annike: Are you coming back?
Lucas: *smirks* I thought you didn’t miss me and now you don’t want me to leave?
Annike: Of course I missed you…and no, I don’t want you to leave.
Lucas: Come on, Nika, you knew this would happen.
Annike: I guess…
Lucas: I’m only going to audition. I’ll be back as soon as that’s over to wait and hear back from them about whether or not they want me or not. I won’t be gone long, I promise.
Annike: You won’t be staying, though. I suppose I should just accept it.
Lucas: Nika, I’m flattered that you want me to stay here this badly. Don’t worry; I’m not all that optimistic about this audition anyway. Chances are I won’t make it and I’ll be here that much longer.
Annike: You know as well as I do that the audition will go just fine.
Lucas: I’m just out of practice.
Annike: You can remedy that, just practice until you have to leave.
Lucas: It’s not that easy…didn’t I tell you? My guitar got stolen.
Annike: What? Your guitar? Oh no…not Lucy!
Lucas: *laughs* Ah, I haven’t called her Lucy in years, but yeah, that’s the one.
Annike: Lucas, that was your first guitar! It was special…isn’t there anyway to get it back?
Lucas: Nope. She’s gone without a trace. The police have tried but…no luck.
Annike: I’m so sorry.
Lucas: It’s okay, Nika. I was upset but I’m over it now. I’ll get a new one…I just haven’t gotten around to it yet.
Annike: You always were a bit slow about important things like this.
Lucas: *smirks* I’ve been distracted.
Annike: By what?
Lucas: By you!
Annike: *snort and eye roll* You flatter me. You don’t expect me to believe that, do you?
Lucas: I just meant that you’ve been so busy trying to sell me on the high points of this place that I haven’t been thinking of much else. That and trying to avoid getting beat up by you.
Annike: I should have hit you harder.
To be continued...
Yes, Lucas's first guitar, which was stolen just prior to arriving at my house, was named "Lucy" :P...it's kind of a little joke, notice it's like the female version of Lucas?
