Chapter 94:
Hawk: Shiloh, I had no idea you were so…passionate.
Shiloh: *blush*
Hawk: It’s nothing to be embarrassed about; I like it…a lot.
Shiloh: *still blushing* Thank you.
Hawk: Come on, let’s sit back down.
Shiloh: Hawk…is this going to…change everything?
Hawk: It will be different, yes…but what do you mean?
Shiloh: I still want the crazy adventures…that won’t stop, will it?
Hawk: No way. The adventures will be even better now, I promise.
Shiloh: Oh, good!
Hawk: Besides…one of the many things I like about you so much is that you want to go on all my crazy adventures with me. I would be disappointed if you didn’t want to go anymore.
Shiloh: Oh, I want to go, I’m depending on it. But…I have a confession to make…
Hawk: Uh oh, what?
Shiloh: I went rock climbing without you.
Hawk: *laughs* I had that coming. But I’m sorry I missed it.
Shiloh: It wasn’t the same without you.
Hawk: I won’t miss it again.
Shiloh: *yawn*
Hawk: It’s getting really late and you have to go to work early tomorrow. You should go and get some sleep.
Shiloh: No, I don’t want to leave yet.
Hawk: I don’t want you to leave either but I’m trying to be…good.
Hawk: You know, when I first came here, Sabrina was one of the first people I met and she reminded me forcibly of my old self.
Shiloh: *laughs* How ironic.
Hawk: I followed her around trying to keep her out of trouble. But she didn’t want to change so I finally just left her alone…well, after she promised to leave my friends alone.
Shiloh: Maybe she doesn’t want to change.
Hawk: Probably not. I think there is more hope for Lucas…maybe. I just wish he’d spend more time thinking about other people.
Shiloh: Mmmm…
Hawk: When he came here it again reminded me of my old life…it started to torture me. Telling you about it has made me feel a whole lot better.
Hawk: Thank you for not judging me, Shiloh.
Shiloh: *she squeezes his hand in response*
Hawk: *smiles and pulls her closer to him* I haven’t felt this happy in a long time.
Shiloh: …
Hawk: Shiloh?
*Hawk looks at Shiloh closely and realizes she has fallen asleep*
Hawk: *smiles* I knew she should have gone to bed.
*He looks around and sees her pillow lying nearby, which gives him an idea*
*Hawk carefully lays her down on her pillow, Shiloh sleeps on*
