Chapter 131: Thank You For...
*Nicholai waits patiently for Rayna to stop crying*
*Rayna takes a deep breath and wipes her face, Nicholai tentatively approaches her*
Nicholai: Um…hi.
Rayna: *looks up* Hi…uh…who are you?
Nicholai: I’m a friend of Bo’s, I don’t know if you know her or not.
Rayna: I know her a little.
Nicholai: My name is Nicholai.
Rayna: I’m Rayna, nice to meet you.
Nicholai: Listen…I couldn’t help overhearing some of your conversation with that man who just left…
Rayna: *squirms* Uh…what did you hear?
Nicholai: Something about practicing. *points to her sword* I assume you meant sword practice?
Rayna: Yeah.
Nicholai: Well, I don’t know if you are interested or not, but I could practice with you if you want.
Rayna: Oh…you know how to use a sword?
Nicholai: No, not really, but I have other skills so we could still practice together.
Rayna: *confused* What do you mean?
Nicholai: It would be easier for me to just show you. I need to gather my things, but we could at least try it…if you want.
Rayna: *intrigued* I guess we could try.
Nicholai: Great!
*They make arrangements to meet again in a few days*
Elsewhere…
*Hawk is waiting for Shiloh, Madison walks by with Alex*
Madison: Hello, Hawk! It’s nice to see you again.
Hawk: Hi!
Madison: What are you doing?
Hawk: *smiles wistfully* I’m waiting for my girlfriend.
Madison: Wait…girlfriend? You mean…
Hawk: Yeah, thanks for your help, Madison. I worked it out and everything is great.
Madison: Oh, I’m so happy for you!
Hawk: Eh, who is this? *smiles knowingly*
Madison: Oh, this is Alex…my boyfriend.
Hawk: I see. You worked it out, too, then?
Alex: ???
Madison: Yes, thank you. Alex, this is Hawk, a friend of mine.
Hawk: *nods at Alex*
Alex: Hey.
Hawk: Look, there’s Shiloh there…
Madison: That’s your girlfriend?
Hawk: Yeah.
Madison: She looks really sweet!
*Hawk jumps up and walks away to meet Shiloh*
Alex: Wow, he must really be gone on her. Did you see how he just walked off without saying goodbye?
Madison: I’m just glad to see him so happy.
Alex: What did he mean when he said you worked it out?
Madison: He helped me figure out my feelings about you, that’s all. *smiles*
Hawk: Shiloh, I’m glad you are here. Come and meet my friends.
Shiloh: I’m happy to see you…I’d love to meet your friends…but first…uh…
Hawk: What is it?
Shiloh: I need to tell you something.
Hawk: You can tell me anything.
Shiloh: I know. This might sound kind of silly…but…I wanted to tell you…I want to say…thank you for loving me.
Hawk: *smiles* That’s not silly at all. You’re welcome…and thanks for loving me back.
Hawk: I know you doubt sometimes, but never forget-you make me happier than I’ve ever been. If I have to spend the rest of my life proving it to you, I will.
Shiloh: I’m trying not to doubt so much.
Hawk: Good. You want to meet my friends now?
Shiloh: Yes, let’s go!

There are two things I feel compelled to mention at this point:
1. Nicholai did indeed overhear enough of Rayna's conversation with Sebastian to realize how Rayna feels about Sebastian...but Nicholai has the good sense not to mention that to Rayna (at least not right now...heh).
2. Alex and Madison are an interesting couple, he's a casual "dude", she's a sophisticated lady. I liked the fact that opposites attract. ;)

Alex is wearing a new jacket and pair of shorts I bought from Ambitious Love (his shirt is also from Ambitious Love, but I've had that for a while). I desperately needed new boy clothes and these fit Alex's casual personality better than the other outfit he's been wearing for a while. I also bought Hash's stock for another boy of mine, but I don't know when it will get here.
