Birthday story for freakybiatch

Jaejoong stared up at the ceiling of Yunho’s room before he turned over to look at Yunho, who was sleeping beside him. He could see the faint scar on his cheek, the fine definition of his jaw, and the hickey on his neck - despite the darkness that filled the room, he could still appreciate every single physical feature of Yunho’s.

Yunho stirred and blinked sleepily at him, “Is something wrong?”

“Nope, nothing,” Jaejoong replied as he pressed his clothed body closer against Yunho’s. He wished that he could release his last bit of apprehension about their relationship so that they could become more intimate, but he couldn’t let go of it just yet.

He was still scared of getting hurt.

Yunho’s hand moved over and rested atop his stomach, “I like having you around. You have such a soothing presence.”

“I always thought I gave you a headache for being difficult,” Jaejoong said lightly as he inched even closer to Yunho. He was silent for a few seconds before he added, “I think we’ll have to stop seeing each other for a bit.”

Yunho frowned at him in the darkness, “What? Why?”

“I have to study and you distract me.”

“Oh,” Yunho chuckled softly in amusement, “Well okay then.”

His smile grew wider, and he pulled Jaejoong close so that he could continue what he wanted to say, “So I’m a distraction, huh? I get under your skin?” he murmured, his hand skimming across Jaejoong’s upper body.

“Yeah, I guess you are,” Jaejoong breathed as Yunho’s hand settled at his wrist and began to trace absentminded circles onto the exposed skin, “More so than anyone else that I’ve ever met.”

“I’m happy about that,” Yunho confessed as he nuzzled Jaejoong’s face slightly before pulling away, “I have an important gig in two weeks - I want you to go, okay? It’s kind of…well, important to me that you go.”

“Why?”

Yunho laughed, “Are you really asking me that?”

“Uhm…yeah?”

“Because I like you a lot, and you’ve brought me a lot of luck since that night I first met you. In fact, I feel so lucky that I should probably go ahead and buy a lottery ticket -“

“How lame of you to say that,” Jaejoong interrupted and bit his lip to prevent a smile from breaking out across his face. He stared at Yunho for a few seconds before he eventually decided to just turn his face and bury it into his pillow.

Yunho chuckled and drew Jaejoong into his arms, the latter’s back pressed firmly against his chest. He pulled Jaejoong in closer and held him tightly while he slipped his head between Jaejoong’s neck and shoulder.

“You’ll go, right?”

Jaejoong leaned into Yunho’s warm embrace and shut his eyes. He’d never felt so comfortable in someone’s arms before - it felt as if his body had been made to perfectly fit against Yunho’s.

“Of course.”

Yunho kissed his jaw, “Thank you,” he murmured, his breath warm against Jaejoong’s skin.

The tone of his voice sent Jaejoong’s heart racing. He shut his eyes and exhaled, feeling himself gradually slip into unconsciousness and dreading the fact he would be leaving in a few hours.

He didn’t want to leave the comfort of Yunho’s arms.
o-o-o
Jaejoong let out a loud sigh as he placed his books on his desk. He stared at them for a few seconds before he trudged over to his bed to lie down.

He felt dead.

His brain was threatening to explode after seemingly endless hours of academic work, and he wanted to escape it all somehow. He sighed before he reached over to grab his pack of cigarettes to release his built up stress.

The door to his room creaked open, and Jaejoong paused to raise his head and looked at Junsu, who was fidgeting at his doorway.

“What is it?” Jaejoong questioned, “I thought you had some song you were supposed to be memorizing -“

Junsu cleared his throat, “Your boyfriend’s here.”

Jaejoong sat up immediately and let go of his pack of cigarettes before he got up and shot out of his room to see Yunho. He breezed past Junsu and made his way towards the living, where he glimpsed a seated Yunho.

“How do you know where I live?”

Yunho grimaced light heartedly and effortlessly lifted himself off the couch to approach Jaejoong with open arms, “I was expecting to hear something along the lines of I miss you.”

“I did miss you, but how did you find out where I live?” Jaejoong asked, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. They had never met up at Jaejoong’s building, and for some reason, they always gravitated towards hanging out at Yunho’s place rather than his, which explained Jaejoong’s surprise. Yunho chuckled and took hold of the shorter man’s wrists in order to tug him closer, “Your friend texted me from your phone, asking me to help you quit that chain smoking habit you picked up again.”

Junsu came into the room to pick up his spare keys and glanced at the two of them in passing, “I thought you needed some time to have fun and let loose - if only for a little while.”

“You…” Jaejoong blushed, “Whatever. Thanks. We won’t be staying in, so you can stay in if you want.”

Junsu shook his head, “I’m going out with Hyukjae and some of my football friends. It’s okay.”

“Have fun,” Yunho piped in, earning him a slight shove from Jaejoong.

Junsu laughed, “I guess you and I will just have to get introduced properly next time.”

“Sure, I’ll definitely make sure to invite you to one of my band’s upcoming gigs.”

“As long as it doesn’t fall before one of my exams, I’ll definitely go -“

Jaejoong cut in, “Okay, bye Junsu. You might be late for that meeting of yours, and I wouldn’t want that -“

“Don’t be jealous babe -“

“What did you just call me?”

Before Jaejoong could finish, Junsu slammed the door shut and left. Yunho laughed and pulled Jaejoong closer.

“I know you told me not to be a distraction, but…” Yunho grinned sheepishly and looped his fingers into Jaejoong’s jeans, “I missed you.”

“But I told you -“

“You need to have some fun, okay? Then you can feel absolutely free and energized to get back to those books of yours and continue your date with them.”

Jaejoong pouted, “How do I know that you’re going to show me a fun time?

Yunho chuckled huskily and leaned down to kiss Jaejoong before he whispered, “Baby, I’m always a good time, so don’t worry that pretty little head of yours.”

“Why do you always -“

Yunho silenced him with a kiss.
o-o-o
“So, this is your idea of a fun time?”

Yunho nodded and pushed Jaejoong to an arcade game. He laughed at the irritated look on the other’s face, but pushed him again anyway, “Come on, it’ll be fun.”

“It’s dirty -“

Yunho brushed past Jaejoong to pick up the guitar, and he slung it over his shoulder with a smile, “You just need to loosen up. Let me serenade you.”

“You are aware that you’ll be serenading me with a fake, plastic guitar, right?”

“It’s the thought that counts. Besides, I don’t think you’ve ever really heard me sing.”

“You’re supposed to just be playing the guitar in this game, and I don’t think -“

Yunho leaned over and shut Jaejoong up once again with a kiss. He laughed and patted Jaejoong’s cheeks before he chose a song, “You know, I have a feeling you talk a lot lately because you want me to kiss you.”

“Shut up.”

“Ha! I knew I was right -“

Before Yunho could finish his sentence, a tall man approached them and pulled Yunho by the shoulder. He took off the guitar on Yunho’s body and reproached him, “The fuck Yunho? You disappeared on us again!”

“Shit, I -“

The tall guy paused and took notice of Jaejoong, who was standing off to the side. He pushed Yunho aside gently and cleared his throat, “I know this is a really awkward time for us to meet, but I need to take Yunho now.”

“Oh -“

“Yunho, come on. Tomorrow night is huge for us, okay? A record label agent is going to be there, and I know you have been waiting for this break even longer than me. We need to practice.”

Yunho glanced at Jaejoong, “I know I said I was going to show you a fun time -“

“It’s okay, you can go,” Jaejoong said lightly, trying to hide his disappointment. He smiled and took a step back from the two of them, “It’s okay, really.”

“Jaejoong -“

“Yunho. He’s a big boy, he can handle it,” Yunho’s bandmate muttered before he held out his hand to Jaejoong, “I’m Shim Changmin by the way.”

They shook hands briefly and Jaejoong shifted awkwardly before he decided to speak again, “Well, I should go now. I have an exam -“

Yunho stepped forward to kiss Jaejoong but Changmin pulled him back and shot him a glare for wasting more time, “Come on, let’s go.”

“Such a cockblock,” Yunho said with a laugh as he let himself be pulled away by Changmin. Jaejoong watched them disappear into the crowd. He turned to leave and only made it a few steps further when he felt someone pull him by the wrist.

“What are you -“

“Can we talk for a bit? I told Yunho that I forgot something so I don’t have much time.”

Seeing no possible escape, Jaejoong just nodded and waited for the other man to speak.

“I’ve realized that Yunho’s been skipping a lot of our practices whenever he gets the chance to meet with you, and I need - no, our band - needs him to focus.”

Jaejoong frowned, “Are you blaming me for his lack of focus? What do you expect me to do about it, do you -“

Changmin shook his head and held up his hands in a sign of peace, “Look…I just need you to help our band out. Please, could you make sure that he doesn’t keep skipping our sessions? I know that he adores you, and every time you call him, he looks like he wants to run out the door. But we have a goal and I want us to achieve it.”

“Okay, I understand.”

The taller man studied him for a few seconds before he bowed his head and apologized, “I’m sorry for running your date, trust me. I didn’t want to do it, but it’s just that -“

“You guys have a big dream to achieve, and I know it’s important that the people in your band are still committed to achieving it. I understand, so…don’t worry so much about it. It’s important to work for one’s dreams.”

“I think you’re awesome,” Changmin said with a laugh, “Probably the best boyfriend Yunho’s ever had -“

Jaejoong laughed, “You really -“

“Okay, I have to go, thanks again!”

Changmin bolted out of sight, and Jaejoong watched his tall figure get lost in the swarm of people before he turned away and began to make his way back home. The other man’s words lingered in his mind, reminding him that Yunho had his own dreams and goals to pursue and that he wasn’t the only thing in his life.

The words also reminded him that someday, Yunho could get famous and then things wouldn’t be the same between them anymore. Jaejoong sighed softly and pushed those thoughts away. He couldn’t focus on a future that wasn’t on the horizon just yet. He had to focus on things that were closer to the present - like his studies.

Jaejoong groaned quietly and turned to make his way back home.

It seemed like he was going to be spending his night with his books after all.
o-o-o
Jaejoong woke up to the sound of someone ringing the doorbell. He jolted upright and cringed when he noticed the slight saliva caused wetness on his notebook. He sighed and didn’t bother to check what time it was. He made his way to the door so that he could let Junsu, who was probably too drunk to open the door with his key. He unlocked it easily and swung it open, “How much did Hyukjae make you -“

“Hey.”

Jaejoong blinked and wiped his eyes to make sure that he was really seeing Yunho and not Junsu. He faltered for a second before he replied, “Hey…I didn’t think I’d be seeing you so soon.”

“Me too,” Yunho whispered before he leaned over and pressed a kiss to Jaejoong’s lips sweetly, “But I just couldn’t bring myself to stay away.”

He leaned into Yunho’s body until Jaejoong remembered what Changmin had talked to him about only hours earlier. Jaejoong placed his hand on Yunho’s chest and raised an eyebrow, “What about your band practice?”

“Jaejoong, it’s almost four in the morning - band practice is over, trust me,” Yunho chuckled as he stepped inside the apartment and slipped out of his leather jacket. He flung his jacket over his shoulder and looked around, “Where’s the bedroom?”

“Horny asshole,” Jaejoong muttered before he walked away and led Yunho over to his bedroom. He stopped at Junsu’s room and opened the door to check if he was present before he came back out and opened his bedroom door, “Junsu’s not home.”

“Is that a subtle way of inviting me into your bed?” Yunho questioned as he entered Jaejoong’s room. He dumped his leather jacket onto the floor and quickly made his way to Jaejoong’s bed.

As soon as he was comfortable and settled, he raised his head and looked at Jaejoong, who was watching him by the doorway, “What?”

“I don’t think you should be sleeping here,” Jaejoong muttered as he slipped out of his shirt and crawled to Yunho. He clambered over Yunho and began to pull at his shirt while he tugged at the other man’s earlobe with his teeth.

Yunho groaned and removed his shirt, “Do you want me to leave?” he asked as he helped Jaejoong unbuckle his belt. He grinned at Jaejoong devilishly and removed the other’s shirt before pinning him down onto the bed.

“I don’t think this is good,” Jaejoong said breathlessly as Yunho began to trail kisses down from his neck to his chest, “Are we really going to do this?” He looked up at Yunho’s unreadable gaze and relaxed, “I’m sorry.”

“About?”

“I must be confusing to you,” Jaejoong mumbled, “Pushing and pulling you all the time, sending you mixed signals and -“

“Don’t apologize.”

Their eyes met again, and Jaejoong bit his lip, “Stop being so fucking nice, it’s annoying. Why can’t you be a bitch sometimes? Tell me I’m being a prick and that I should be clearer about how I feel.”

“You’d like me to call you names, wouldn’t you?” Yunho said with a laugh before he kissed Jaejoong’s forehead. He kept their noses pressed together and ran his hands through Jaejoong’s soft hair, “Why don’t you tell me how you feel?”

“How I…”

“Yes, how you feel,” Yunho pressed seriously as he continued to run his hands through Jaejoong’s hair, “Because I think you pretty much know that I’m crazy about you despite all your crazy.”

Yunho smiled kindly and Jaejoong squirmed underneath him. He let out a soft sigh and tried to hold Yunho’s gaze, “I’m not crazy,” he replied weakly before he exhaled once more and continued, “I…I like you a lot. You make my days brighter, and…now I feel stupid for saying this, but I like you because you’re different - you make me feel different, in a good way of course, and uhm, you…you just -“

Jaejoong frowned, “I’m not good at this kind of thing, okay? Talking about feelings and…just, talking. I’m not good at it.”

“Okay,” Yunho murmured good-naturedly before he pushed down Jaejoong’s boxers impatiently, “Well, it’s a good thing we won’t be talking for the rest of the night then,” Yunho chuckled huskily and met Jaejoong’s eyes, “But despite that, feel free to be vocal.” He added as he leaned down and captured Jaejoong’s lips once more.

Author’s Note: I fear that this story is so slow moving. DDD: Fortunately, I have already introduced a somewhat major plot issue, and yay, Jaejoong has officially opened his heart to Yunho. :3 I’m sorry there was no smut in this chapter. *__* I’m all worn out from smut writing. LOL. XD Okay, I shall be off on my merry way to finish my last update of the week. As usual, thank you for the comments, and I don’t want to keep anyone’s hopes up, but I might update several times again next week. Let’s see if I can finish writing. XD Thank you for reading! ♥
