Birthday fic for
yunho_ism, my twitter sister. :3
Yes, he was staring, but it wasn’t really a crime to stare, now was it?
Yunho watched the poor student struggle with the box he was carrying in his arms. His face was completely covered by the large cardboard material which was brimming with paint brushes and paint.
He left his spot by his door and took the box, “Here, I could help you -“
As soon as Yunho took the box away, the face of the new person was revealed, and he promptly dropped the box - which resulted in the bottles of paint rolling across the hallway, and the paint brushes scattering across the floor.
“Fuck, I’m so sorry.” Yunho muttered, his face heating up with embarrassment, “I was trying to help you and -“
“It’s okay.” The other student said lightly as he kneeled down to place the things back in the box as well. They both looked up, and the guy smiled, “It’s nice enough that you made an effort to help me.”
Yunho dropped the bottle of red paint he was holding in his hand and swooned.
The guy laughed and picked up the bottle. He reached out with his free hand, “Hi, I’m Kim Jaejoong, and I’ll be living on this floor.”
“Floor - me, uh, Yunho.” Yunho blushed, “I mean, I’m Jung Yunho, and I live on this floor too.” He reached out and shook Jaejoong’s hand, “If you need any help unpacking, I can help. I promise, I’ll do a better job than this.” He motioned to the mess around them.
Jaejoong laughed and Yunho picked up the box as they both stood up. “Well, okay then. It’d be nice to get to know someone on my floor.”
And from then on, Jung Yunho had a colossal crush on Kim Jaejoong.

It sucked to work in a flower shop.
Most of the time, Yunho felt like strangling himself with the flower wire whenever it was Valentine’s Day and he was once more reminded that he was alone, suffering from unrequited love, and forced to go back to his apartment to feed his ravenous roommate.
But luckily, it was not Valentine’s Day, and the shop had just run out of flower wire.
While one of Yunho’s co-workers rushed out to buy some more, Yunho manned the cashier and noted the orders of customers. Most of the orders were the usual - a surprise present for an anniversary, wedding bouquets, and the typical courtship gift.
However, what was unfortunate about the courtship gifts was the person the gifts were for.
“I’d like to get these flowers for Kim Jaejoong.”
“Here, I’d like these flowers sent to Kim Jaejoong’s dorm.”
“Make sure to include a heart, okay? So, the complete message should be, Kim Jaejoong, you’re the most beautiful man I’ve ever seen, and I love you.”
“I’ve never given anyone flowers before, so what kind of flowers do you think Kim Jaejoong would like?”
No, he did not give a fuck about what kind of flowers Kim Jaejoong would want from the others - not when he was also in love with Kim Jaejoong and desperately hoping that the ridiculously gorgeous student would pay a single speck of attention to him.
Life was cruel, and he was forced to take those orders with a smile, or else he wouldn’t have the money to buy food. And he needed to buy food so that he wouldn’t be putting his - and the lives of others - in danger if he ever attempted to cook himself.
As another student placed an order for a bouquet of red roses with a card to be dedicated to the one and only Kim Jaejoong, Yunho was quite sure that fate hated him.

It sucked to be Kim Jaejoong’s neighbor - well, not really, seeing as Jaejoong constantly brought food over to their dorm, but it sucked to be his neighbor and see all the guys who went to Jaejoong’s door to pick him up for a date.
Which was why, on lonely Friday and Saturday nights, Yunho refused to leave his dorm room.
“You’re so stupid.” Changmin said as he walked out of his bedroom and made his way to the refrigerator, “If you like Jaejoong so much, why don’t you just tell him? I’m sick of dealing with you when you’re being difficult like this.”
Yunho muffled his face with a sofa cushion, “Because I’m not cool.”
“Jesus Christ, are you PMS-ing? Seriously?” Changmin sighed and flopped onto the sofa next to Yunho, he swatted the older student with a cushion and turned the television on with his other hand. “And this is why we’re confined to the dorm? Because you don’t think you’re cool?”
“Jaejoong has a date tonight.” Yunho muttered pathetically as he slunk further into his seat and kept his eyes glued onto the screen. “I don’t want to see him.”
“You’re sad.” Changmin replied before he handed Yunho the bag of chips he had in his hand, “I think you should eat. It’ll probably make you feel better.”
“Okay -“
The door bell rang, and Changmin jerked the bag of chips away. “You should answer the door first though.” He added with an evil grin.
Yunho rolled his eyes and heaved his body off the sofa. He walked to the door and opened it, mildly surprised to receive a visitor on a Friday night.
“What do you -“
Jaejoong smiled sheepishly, “Can I hang out with you guys tonight? My date didn’t come.”
Who is this bastard so I can kill him for standing you up?
Yunho forced a smile, “Of course you can.” He glanced back at Changmin, “You don’t mind if Jaejoong hangs out here tonight, do you?”
“Nope, I don’t.” Changmin replied, his eyes still glued to the television, “As long as you feed me and Yunho, I’ll be fine with your presence.”
“I’ll pay for dinner -“
Yunho quickly waved his hands in front of Jaejoong, “No! You won’t!” he blushed, “I mean…Changmin’s just being cheap. I’ll pay for dinner, really. You’re our guest.”
“But -“
“No, it’s fine!”
Jaejoong chuckled, “If you say so. I’ll bring the drinks though. I’ll go back to my dorm and get them.” He smiled at Yunho before he left to get the drinks.
Yunho sighed and leaned against the door as soon as he’d shut it.
“That was pretty sad. You’re throwing yourself at him, and it doesn’t seem like he wants you.”
“Shut up.”
“So, what’s for dinner? You did say you were buying.”
“I hate you. Let me sulk in peace.”

Yoochun was Jaejoong’s roommate, and he was the only person Yunho could turn to when he was in need of comfort. Changmin was too much of a prick whenever it came to Jaejoong related matters, and he never approved of Yunho’s moping.
Unfortunately, Yoochun’s methods of comfort involved consuming large quantities of alcohol.
So, after Yunho was forced to take two orders of bouquets for Jaejoong, he demanded Yoochun’s presence in his dorm so that he could whine about how he’d make a wonderful boyfriend for Jaejoong.
They were all gathered on Changmin’s bed - because for a change, Changmin was willing to listen to Yunho’s bitching about how unrequited love sucked. They’d all drank at least three cans of whatever Yoochun had brought - it was Japanese, and none of them understood Japanese, but Yoochun had promised that it was strong.
And it was strong - Yunho always felt like the room was spinning whenever he moved on the bed, and his vision was getting slightly fuzzy.
Not to mention, he wasn’t quite sure if Yoochun really was making out with Changmin, or if the two of them were just snoring on each other. Yunho blinked twice and fell off the bed, landing loudly onto the floor.
“I’m okay!” he shouted to no one in particular as he struggled to stand up. He glanced at the bed and groaned, covering his eyes immediately. “That’s disgusting!”
“You’re disgusting!” Changmin shouted back as he disentangled his long limbs from Yoochun and nearly fell off the bed himself, “Now sit back down and continue to bitch while both of us pretend like we still care.”
“I care!” Yoochun chimed loudly, “I am Yunjae president, you know?”
“What?” Changmin and Yunho both asked simultaneously, briefly regaining their sobriety.
Yoochun smiled, “Yunjae - Yunho & Jaejoong. I think they’re cute! That’s why I keep listening to Yunho, and keep mentioning his name to Jaejoong! Don’t you think I’m smart? Yunho, when you and Jaejoong have babies -“
Changmin groaned, “I don’t want to hear about Yunho and Jaejoong having babies.” He clasped his hands over his ears and glared at Yoochun, “I can’t believe I let you stick your tongue into my mouth a few seconds ago.”
“You know you liked it baby.” Yoochun replied greasily before he launched into a fit of laughter on his own, “Yunho, you know, U-know! I’m so funny!”
Changmin rolled his eyes and blinked. “Where did Yunho go?”
“What?” Yoochun glanced around the room, more sober than he was seconds ago. He glanced at Changmin, “Maybe he wanted to give us privacy?”
Changmin glared.
“I’ll look for him.”
Changmin smiled, mismatched eyes and all, and the sight did nothing to soothe the other student’s beating heart. Yoochun stole a quick kiss before he shakily walked out of the room, only to run back inside with surprising speed.
“Oh, God, Minnie, he’s missing and his phone is still here!”
The two of them immediately abandoned their plans of making out and ran out to find the missing Jung.

Yunho knocked on Jaejoong’s door and almost fell down. He steadied himself by gripping the door knob tightly, but let go when he felt someone on the other side of the door moving it on the other side.
Jaejoong opened the door, “Oh, Yunho. I didn’t expect to see you so late.”
“Can I come in?” Yunho asked, mildly surprised by how sober he was, but then again - nothing could get in the way of true love - and so he realized that large quantities of unknown alcoholic substances could not hinder his impending declaration of love.
“Sure.”
Jaejoong opened the door, and Yunho was about to walk in before he hesitated. He looked around briefly before he turned his attention to Jaejoong. Since he was rather inebriated and mildly confused, he failed to notice the red blush and notable nervousness on the other man’s face.
“Jaejoong…”
“Yes?” Jaejoong practically squeaked - but once again, Yunho failed to recognize that in his inebriated state.
“I think I love you.” Yunho started, his words sounding vaguely slurred. “The day I dropped your boxes, was one of the best days of my life. I like how you’re so wonderful, and how you can cook well, because I suck at cooking. I’m always staring at you, and I know that might be kind of creepy, but you’re really handsome, so it’s not my fault. I hate it when guys ask me to give you flowers, because I want to be the one to give you flowers, not them, and -“
“I really like you, and I’m also really stupid around you too. I know I stare at you too often, and Changmin likes to tell me that I look even dumber than usual whenever you’re around, but it’s only because -
Before he even considered finishing his sentence, Yunho gently took hold of Jaejoong’s arms and pressed his lips against Jaejoong’s. He slowly backed Jaejoong against the wall and slipped his tongue into the warm cavern of Jaejoong’s mouth.
He raised his hands to cup Jaejoong’s face, but before he could open his eyes to see Jaejoong’s reaction, there was a loud sound of a door being forcefully opened.
“Yunho!”
Yunho jolted back and stared at Jaejoong, who was staring at him with wide eyes. Yunho paled and stared guiltily at Jaejoong, “Holy shit.” His eyes lowered down to Jaejoong’s irresistibly red lips, “Fuck -“
“Yunho! Oh my God!” Changmin quickly pulled Yunho away from Jaejoong, “I’m so sorry if he did anything stupid -“
“He’s so fucking drunk -“
Before any of them could register what was happening, Yunho had escaped Changmin’s long limbed prison and was running down the stairs at a surprisingly fast and coordinated speed for a drunk person.
Yoochun and Changmin glanced at each other before they turned their heads to look at Jaejoong, whose cheeks were oddly red.
“What happened?” Yoochun asked, “Did he -“
“I don’t know!” Jaejoong squeaked before he turned away and slammed the door in their faces.
Once again, Yoochun and Changmin glanced at each other, all the more confused with the sudden turn of events. Yoochun raked his eyes along Changmin’s body and grinned, “So, since your dorm’s empty -“
“Nice try, but no. Let’s go look for Yunho.”
o-o-o
Yunho came back to the dorm hours later and immediately ran to his bedroom. Fortunately, he didn’t lock the door, which made it easier for Yoochun and Changmin to visit him the next morning.
Needless to say - he wasn’t looking his best.
Yoochun grimaced visibly at the sight of Yunho looking so pathetic and sat down next to Changmin on the bed. “It’s okay.” He said reassuringly, patting Yunho’s back, “There are other guys out there.”
“Look, there’s Karam down the hall. He seems to like you.” Changmin suggested as he prodded Yunho’s side, “Or…Ara, she likes you too. Listen, Jaejoong’s not the only -“
“Jaejoong’s the only one I want.”
Yoochun and Changmin shared pained looks, “But Yunho -“
“I’m pathetic, aren’t I?” Yunho muttered, as he rolled over to his back so that he could stare up at the ceiling. “I’m a creep. I stare at Jaejoong too much, and now, I drunkenly declare my feelings toward him.”
“You’re not the first person to drunkenly declare your -“ Yoochun stopped due to the severity of Changmin’s glare.
Changmin rolled his eyes, “Yunho, there’s no point staying in bed the whole day. You should go outside or something. I know Jaejoong rejected you, but that doesn’t mean -“
“He didn’t reject me.”
“So why are you here?” Yoochun asked before Changmin could say anything, “If he didn’t reject you, why are you mourning in bed?”
“Because I forced myself on him.”
Changmin and Yoochun shared worried looks, but Changmin was the one to voice out the question they were both thinking. “What did you do to him?”
“I mauled him.”
“You mean you kissed him?” Changmin clarified, “Jesus Yunho.”
“Did he kiss you back?” Yoochun asked, “He looked pretty red when we talked to him after you bolted.”
“I don’t know.” Yunho muttered, “I was too drunk on that toxic substance you brought. All I know is that I forced myself on him, and now, I will never walk out of this dorm room ever again. Now excuse me so I may wallow in guilt on my own.”
“This is stupid. Just go talk to Jaejoong.” Yoochun muttered as he stood up to leave the room, beckoning for Changmin to follow him, “Changmin and I are going to go out, since there’s no food here and Jaejoong’s not coming out of his room too.”
“Hey, maybe you guys could be blanket hermits together.” Changmin suggested as he and Yoochun began to make their way out the room, “Maybe you two are more similar than -“
Yunho threw a pillow and hit Changmin squarely in the face before he buried himself further in his pile of blankets and pillows.
All Yunho wanted to do was disappear and forget completely about his stupidity, his lust, his drunken escapade, and his irritatingly strong feelings for Kim Jaejoong.
o-o-o
“Yunho?”
“No, Junsu, I am don’t want any more of your terrible ramen because -“
“It’s me, Jaejoong.”
Yunho froze underneath his pile of blankets and didn’t dare raise his head to turn around and look at the other student. He swallowed audibly and clutched Bambi tighter, wondering if he would be able to slip past Jaejoong and run to the bathroom.
However, the door was shut, and Yunho listened as Jaejoong stepped on the carpeted floor and approached the bed slowly.
“I think we should talk.” Jaejoong said slowly, “Yunho?”
Yunho sighed and sat up. He turned around and faced Jaejoong, who immediately turned red at the sight of him. Yunho blinked in confusion and decided that it was because of Bambi, so he promptly tossed the stuffed toy aside.
“I’m sorry, okay Jaejoong? It’s okay if you don’t like me, and I will understand if -“
“I like you, you idiot!” Jaejoong yelled before he grabbed Bambi and threw the stuffed animal at Yunho’s head. “You’re so stupid! Go put on a shirt so that I can stop staring at your abs and talk to you properly!”
“What?”
“You’re distracting me with your muscular chest! Shirt! Put one on!”
“So you like my chest?” Yunho asked, his confidence surging forth. He smirked and immediately pulled Jaejoong onto the bed, “What else do you like?”
Jaejoong blushed and pushed Yunho away before he began to run for the door, mumbling words that Yunho could barely understand “You’re stupid, I hate you, this was a bad idea, I’m never going to come out of my room -“
Yunho quickly hopped off the bed and caught Jaejoong before the other was able to open the door completely. He easily shut the door and pressed Jaejoong’s body against it, “So, you said you liked me?” he asked happily, a smile stretching across his face.
Jaejoong scrunched up his nose, “I’m not kissing you again, so back off. Just because you know hapkido, doesn’t mean that I won’t be able to kick you in the balls and run back to my dorm.”
“I won’t kiss you then.”
“Good.”
“But, can I take you out for dinner?”
Jaejoong was silent for a few seconds before he shoved at Yunho’s chest irritably, “Yeah, fine, whatever.” He mumbled, although the blush on his face indicated that he was more than pleased with Yunho’s suggestion. Jaejoong opened the door, and paused.
“One thing first, Yunho.”
“What?”
“You better take a shower, because I can smell Junsu’s terrible cooking on you.” Jaejoong muttered before he turned away, “I don’t want you smelling like that when we’re on our date.”
“Sure thing.”
As Jaejoong walked away, Yunho smiled - and stared at Jaejoong’s ass.
