[Tohru has a Rapidash.

It's a little sad that's the first thought he has, but on the other hand, it's difficult not to immediately notice a flaming horse.]

[That doesn't mean it's the first thing on his mind to actually say, however. He... isn't certain he really believes Tohru about being alright given her current condition needing Pokemon to support her weight :| ]

[That Rapidash is now looking at the gear curiously, but stoic. It's careful not to poke it or Tohru with it's horn.

Ah, Takatori-san! Have a brighter smile, Mamoru, though still a little bit sleepy.] Mm! I'm fine, I'm just fine! It's just that the same thing that happened to Kyo-kun seems to have happened to me. I... I went back home for a little while, so I'm wonderful. I got to see everyone.

[And Kyo was there, even though a LOT happened. If she looks even just a little bit more mature then now you know why.] Are your friends all okay, Takatori-san?

[She does seem a bit different but really? Went home for a while? He's half-wondering if she hallucinated it.

At the question, he looks down.]

One of our group... returned. [Yes. That was the best way to put it.] Everyone else is all right.

More importantly, shouldn't you sit down for a bit? You really don't look steady on your feet.

[She was about to ask, concerned, but then he goes on and she's relieved again. Why does he look so...? Perhaps he feels guilty that he couldn't protect them. That's how she felt when her friends lost theirs.]

Un, yes. We're on our way back to my room at the hotel right now, Takatori-san. I just need to make sure my Pokemon are alright.

[She's actually extremely worried after leaving them alone for a week. It just reminds her too much of old times, far too much.]

Don't worry, Chika-chan and Rapidash are taking good care of me! [Said with a tinge of mirth, being looked after instead of being the caregiver.]

I'm glad to hear that. But I'm surprised; how did you get a Rapidash? I've been looking for a Ponyta amongst breeders and in the wild with no luck. It seems they're quite rare.

Really? I found a level twelve Ponyta early on when I first arrived, but I gave him to Katara.

I think... that Rapidash belonged to someone else before. He had a previously registered trainer according to my Pokedex. I met him as a Ponyta near Cherrygrove City wandering by himself, and I took care of him, so he seemed to want to come with me.

[She looks a bit thoughtful.] Um... he was level thirty-something then... and he's level eighty-four now, so we've been together for a while! I don't have a female, but... if you'd like, I can give you one of his eggs when he does breed?

(ooc: Had to subtract five levels due to canon update, I forgot. :3)

[Man. Level 84? Mamoru doesn't want to imagine what a nightmare that Pokémon is in a battle.]

Amazing... You must really train your Pokémon hard. [He smiles.] I'd greatly appreciate one of the eggs when it becomes available. How much should I set aside for you?

Kyo-kun showed us how! It's really just their hard work, though. They love to spar with each other.

[She'll take no credit for their growth, as far as Tohru herself is concerned the most she does is nurse their injuries, feed them, and give directions from time to time.

She shakes her head firmly at your question.] No, no! Nothing at all! You were such a big help when I first arrived, I couldn't even think of charging you for this!

[Part of him would like to decide for her to send some money over, but while Route has certainly had the effect of softening his Takatori mentality, it hasn't erased it. He knows he cannot justify the kinder action in this case. Which means he will simply have to deal with the guilt of having taken advantage of her.]
