Not the one I made yesterday, but still yummy. If you like poppyseed, that is. :)
Hungarian Poppyseed Cake
Ingredients:
100 grams of poppy seeds
225 mls of milk
225 grams of butter or margarine
225 grams of demerara sugar (brown sugar)
3 eggs, egg white separated from egg yolk
225 grams of self raising wholemeal flour
3 teaspoons of baking powder
How to make the cake:
Boil poppy seeds in the milk for a few seconds. Let them cool down for a bit.
Melt butter.
Put eggs in a bowl (egg yolks only) with sugar and whisk everything together.
Add melted butter (or margarine) and add rest of ingredients including white of eggs and poppy seeds with milk.
Bake for 1 hour in oven at 150 degrees centigrades.
