It's not grotesque. It was probably the ONLY photo this family had
of their child. Back then, this is the way it was done and was
considered a memento or remembrance. When my mother died, we took a photo and put it with all her funeral cards, etc. There is nothing
either weird or grotesque about this. Death is part of life ...
