Once again Morgana shows just how much she owns. I loved the meeting and the ensuing banter about the meeting. Arthur, please be trying to blend in better next time, yes?

It's not his fault. He's just back from Oxbridge, after all, where they wore *suits* all the time. He and Lancelot had such a fun time at Oxbridge. *sighs* Poor boy, so much to learn.

Hee! This is really turning into Morgana's AU, for all that Merlin/Arthur owns my soul.

OH, I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE. And I am half caught between wincing and STEALING IT FOR LANCELOT.

She really, really is. OTC FTW. I think it's that she's so damn uncomprimising. I'm writing her in, what, four AUs right now? And the boys, they *change.* Subtly, but they do change depending on upbringing and situation. Morgana does not change. She simply changes what's around her by *being* her. (Reminds me of Vala just a little.)

HEE! OMG, I'm blushing like mad. Thank you so much. I don't know quite where the AU came from, since it's such a fusion of what little I know from various book series and alternative history, but I BLAME MORGANA. (Who is swiftly claiming this AU, which I intended to have more boy!love in it. And Gwen. She's also claiming Gwen. In case I've forgotten that.)

*grin* I can honestly say I don't mind being stalked.

(Btw, on merlinxarthur, I'm the same. I practically live on my flist and yet I still miss things. Most of the AU writers - not that I'm following like *twelve* of the things or anything - use the 'genre: au' tag, so if you want to do a quick catch up, you can just check that.)

This story is REALLY drawing me in. I'm looking forward to the next chapter. :)

Also, I FINALLY realized what this reminds me of - this one episode of Star Trek: Deep Space 9, where the entire cast works at scifi magazine in 1950s New York (it's a dream/vision). It's basically the best episode of DS9, so I mean this as a huge compliment. Anyway, now I'm imagining Morgana as Jadzia Dax with a heavy New York accent and Merlin as Jake Sisko as a petty thief.

I'm so sorry if you've never seen DS9 and have no idea what I'm talking about. :P Trust me, it's infinitely amusing.

Lol, I am sorry to have so far left her out, but she's definitely in the next chapter - in honesty, I had trouble placing her in a role that would be important enough, would serve the needs of the story *and* fit her character (as well as being AU enough to not simply be retreading canon).

Cool! I look forward to it. :) AUs can sometimes be a challenge, that's for sure. I'm currently trying to figure out what I'm doing with a crossover-AU-thing for reel_merlin, without simply retreading the canon of both stories. Takes far too much brainpower. Sigh.
