Episode reaction: T:SCC: 2x17: Ourselves Alone

So I don't do episode reactions much anymore, but dude, that episode, I had to. I'm still flailing.

This episode felt old-school T:SCC somehow but also just plain brilliant. This is a subjective point, but it had all the plotlines I find myself *really* interested in. It was all the reasons I watch, right there on screen, at the same time and crossing and tripping over each other.

The writing was excellent, the way the tension was maintained throughout was jaw-achingly competent and I cannot wait to see where they go next.

Also: RIP Riley. I thought you were awesome, but never as awesome as you could have been, and now you never will be. Which is the point, I think - for John, you *were* a normal girl gone wrong and he will have little memory of Riley in any other way, despite the theoretical and technical knowledge of what she lied about. And as much as you tried to fight a heroic, meaningful death, I think that's how it's going to end up- you're going to *mean* something, all the more so for trying not to.

None of which touches on Cameron, who - I have not the words for how much I loved Cameron in this episode. And John, who is taking on future!John and fighting against it, but becoming it regardless.

Show, continue to be awesome. I await with no patience whatsoever.
