Author's note: Just some thoughts on different countries gaining independence, no offence meant.

Independence

For heritage stolen
or Oedipus‘ gain
the cloud‘s silver lining
becomes a vast sky.
Ink in ornate letters
dries like grudges
into the bloodied fields
to gather dust and habitude.
