Dolly Stuffs!

I think I'm ready for a new doll...and get this, I'm thinking it's going to be a Pullip this time instead of a tiny BJD. Truth by told, for now I'm maxed out on tiny BJDs. I don't expect that to last but for now I have no other wants. There are a fewer newer Pullips though that have been tempting me. I haven't bought a Pullip since June 2009 ( ( Read more... )

Have you bought a doll w/a type 4 body? You might not even feel the need to upgrade to an Obitsu. Well, not right away, anyway. I'm getting to where I'm wanting to upgrade a couple of my type 4 girls, but overall, the type 4 body is nice enough that you won't be so frustrated you have to swap the body in order to want to play w/your doll.
Chelsea is also very high on my wishlist, too. >.<

Oh, and as for your photos, I think they're good! :D Really! I mean, you take photos of your dolls all the time! And the more you practice, the better you get! So I think it's worth it to get a nice lens. Is there a community college or something where you could take a photography class? Like something non-credit, I guess? That would force you to practice and do different things. :)

P.S. If you do sell your dolls, please lemme know about your Puki. I might be interested in her (depending on the timing and all that). :)

I'd definitely give a type 4 body a chance before immediately replacing it. It does seem nicer then type 3 for sure. I know Tiphona is on a type 4 but do you know about Chelsea? I don't keep up with Pullips and all the details as much as I used to. :P

Thank you about my photos. I do know that I still have a heck of a lot to learn about photography though. I want to take a class actually, the community college is a five minute drive from my house. I'm just wondering if I could get the results I wanted by learning more rather then investing a ton of money on a fancy lens. I'll have to think about it more.

I'll let you know first if/when I decide to sell my Dals. I'm still not sure about that either, haha!

Get Tiphona she is gorgeous http://www.flickr.com/photos/pullip_junk/sets/72157624954485931/ coincidentally if you are handy ps has one with crooked eyelashes.. very easily fixable but at a nice price.

LOL, part of the reason I started liking Tiphona so much was because of your photos. :P Oh wow, thanks for pointing out the one at PS! That is a good deal and something easy to fix. I'm just not sure why she's calling it "custom bait"...that's throwing me a bit...

Haha ^^; I'm very flattered by your comment ^_^

All returned dolls are listed as bait, you can email ps for details but the one I bought was technically listed as bait as well because she had been returned. PS mentioned they have had acquired an extremely fussy buyer as of late that had returned eight dolls since July, the one I got supposedly had a floppy neck and she was perfectly fine.

Thank you for clearing that up, I'm still considering that Tiphona. Boo for fussy buyers at PS! Shana is nice...haha, probably nicer then I would be. :P Good thing I don't run a doll store.

Yeah, Chelsea's hair is really neat and I've heard it's really soft, too. Tiphona seems pretty popular right now. :D

I have a feeling I'm about to max out on Tiny BJDs myself...I feel like I just need one more Lati Yellow to make my family complete. And I know it's going to be a Coco of some kind, so really at this point, it's just a waiting game! Speaking of BJDs, did you hear that Lati is doing a Halloween release? The pirates haven't even finished shipping yet!!! I know you likely won't be interested in the dolls themselves, but I know you still enjoy following the Lati madness.

I actually quite like Chelsea myself :) My focus is completing my BJD family, of course, but I could definitely see myself warming up to Pullips again when I feel that my time of BJD expansion is done.

Perhaps the macro lens will encourage you to improve your photography? I am of the opinion that having best possible equipment makes one more inclined to get better.

I did a closet cleanout last winter. It was INSANE, but I ended up making well over $120 from it all, so it ended up being WAY worth it in the end.

LOL, I want Coco, too. :P But I just don't feel this need to get her right now. Piper may or may not be staying, I'm not sure about that ( ... )

I don't feel a need to get Coco right now, either--I mean, I'd like to, but I'm still waiting on a body for my Vampire Lumi head, and I'm still sort of paying off my Dragon Aabie. I've semi-pledged to not get another Lati until I've paid off the rest of my dolls ( ... )

There are a lot of vampires I've already seen that are messed up. The face up on Ruki comes to mind. I did see the Halloween dolls up on the site. They are cute, but not really for me...again. But yeah, it seems funny to release Halloween dolls that won't actually be ready anytime near Halloween. :P

Hmmm...I'll have to look into that macro filter. It's possible it might do what I want. I've also got my eye on some used lens on Ebay. I know getting a used lens is a bit risky, but that prices are easier for me to swallow and wrap my brain around. ;)

I looove my macro lens! I don't think I'm good enough for it, but it was relatively inexpensive for a lens, really! I mean, it was £200 but compared to some lenses out there >__< it makes a huge difference when you are taking photos of such small things. If you can justify the cost, I'd say it is worth it :)

The lens I'm looking at runs about $450 brand new. It's one of the cheapest of the better options. I'm also looking at maybe getting a used on off of Ebay. That's a bit risky, but the prices are more something I can handle. I really have nothing against a used lens, it's just with no return policy I would be taking a chance.
