Post Thanksgiving

So, Thanksgiving is over. It was nice, but it would have been a whole lot better if I hadn't been totally sick that day. :( Yes, I was sick! Figures. I could still enjoy the food, but I'm lucky my husband likes to cook or there would have been no celebratory meal that day, I just wasn't up to it ( Read more... )

Being sick on Thanksgiving totally blows. But I'm glad you're feeling better! Yeah, in my family, we don't go to the ER unless you're absolutely dying or you feel as if you've broken a limb. We pay an EXORBITANT amount for ER services, so we try to avoid going as much as we absolutely can.

I had starting thinking about Christmas shopping over break, but today I sat my butt down and did all of it. I just need something for my dad and one of my brothers, and then I'll be totally done! One less thing for me to worry about while I'm trying to finish up school! Really, at this point, the end can't come soon enough.

You're telling me, it totally blows! I've been sick on Thanksgiving before, and it just seems royally unfair of a day to be sick on, too. However, I know there are plenty of people suffering much worse them me, so I guess it's nice that it's not worse. And on a up side, I wasn't vomiting! ;)

Same here with the ER, it's just too expensive to go there (even with the insurance) unless it's a really emergency. Granted, I probably would have avoided the ear infection if I had been able to go to the doctor a day earlier, but I'd hardly call that an emergency so that's just the way it is.

Haha, I still haven't even started the shopping yet, but I'm hoping to maybe do some tonight and/or tomorrow. A lot of it I can do online, I just need to DO IT. :P

Haha, that is a bright side! My brother was sick on Christmas last year, and he said it was terrible because he couldn't eat any of the cookies! That is a tragedy...

Yeah, and you never know how these things are going to turn out. What feels like just a twinge could end up being nothing, so you don't want to go to the doctor just for nothing, right? (I would never go to the doctor unless I'm DYING because I kind of hate my doctor. Maybe I should work on finding a new one soon). Well, at least you're feeling better now, right?

Yeah, that's the hardest part about Christmas shopping--getting started! But at least for me, when I do get started, I want to finish it as soon as possible, so it really frustrates me when I can't think of what to get for those last few people!

'tis the season for people falling apart, it seems. :( So many icky bugs going around! I have a double ear infection, I think...but I'm holding out until I see my family doctor on Dec. 8th. Poor guy, I have a ton of problems to unload on him. :3 I hope you're feeling up to par soon!

I mostly just did Christmas cards for friends this year, too. I got them out though, and Christmas shopping is done, so it's one more thing off my plate. Too bad it's still overflowing with a million other things that need done, haha. Do you already have an idea of what you're buying for family, or are you just going in blind and getting whatever catches your eye? I generally have no patience for shopping, so I go in with a game plan. :P It's funny - I enjoy giving gifts, but for the most part, I cannot stand the actual act of shopping. Go figure. :P

It is the season, and with all the weird weather changes going on around here it's just not helping anything! I really hope you don't have ear infections, but whatever it is I hope you feel better very soon. My ear is STILL plugged up! But at least it doesn't hurt.

I have my lists all made out, I just need to get my butt out to the store and get it done. I have to have a plan or I never know what to get. :P Shopping can be fun...but this time of year it's not that great. I'm just not a fan of crowds and lines.

Thank you for the lovely Christmas card, Joni - it arrived safely today. :) Kaia loves it and has given it a place of prominence in our card display!
