Indica

I know I promised myself I'll start buying MP3 downloads of my favourite albums, or the albums themselves, once I started earning a regular income. Well, I've been earning said income for more than 3 years now, but I can't seem to quit the downloading habit. Just boot up Soulseek or run a search at Pirate Bay...both easy as pie ( Read more... )

First of all, illegal downloads? Tut-tut. :p I only do that with TV shows, because I like having the actual CD case physically in my hands.

Secondly, it is beyond mind-boggling that you of all people are writing about Indica! So very cool that you even know who they are. Their music is very addictive, I agree, and they're quite good live as well.

By the way, if you ever need to get some lyrics (Finnish ones, obviously) translated, let me know as I'd be more than happy to help you out. :)

SHHHH! Why d'you think this post is f'locked? *shifty eyes*

And ain't it wonderful how music is universal and how it connects people everywhere? For all I know, you could have a liking for Chinese pop. LOL yay for the Internet!

I like that they're such a kick-ass band and that they actually play their own instruments.

As a start, perhaps you could help translate the songs I listed? :P I promise, if you fall in love with Chinese pop, I'll return the favour. LOL

So far I haven't fallen for Chinese pop, but it wouldn't surprise me at all if that happened at some point, heh.

The songs you mentioned:

Surusilmä = someone with sad eyes.
Ihmisen Lento = poetic way to say 'the life of a human being'
Ikuinen Virta = eternal current

I totally agree, re: Indica playing their own instruments. That's one of the reasons I like listening to their music.

Great to know what the songs names are in English. :) I find that knowing the translations of songs are nice, but not essential to enjoying the song. Music speaks of itself. Can I just say, Finnish music is so...emotive. Whether dark or light, goth or pop, you folk just get it right! And the audience feels it too.

It's so rare to find all-girl bands that play their own instruments, but hopefully that is slowly changing.
