For Eames (Sex Switch)

Aug 09, 2011 00:45

I can't explain away the fuckin' emotional roller coaster I've been on, I can't blame it on girl hormones, even though, yesterday, in the middle of an hours-long sob fest, I started kind of wondering if this is what PMS feels like. It's been building for a while, boiling under the surface, spilling out through cracks, and some days, it feels like ( Read more... )

The funny thing, maybe even the startling thing, is how utterly unfazed by the turn of events Eames is. He's never had any qualms with fucking around, be it in dreams or not; this is probably somewhere between the two, if only for the form he's currently in, and in that way, it's fine, it's fun, it's exactly the sort of thing he'd usually go for. The difference is that Neil is a friend, and a good one, who just lost a second husband and who usually looks like one of his co-workers, and Eames aware on some level that, for anyone else, all of these things would be every reason not to do this.

He isn't anyone else, though, and at the end of the day, he finds it hard to care about how questionable it might be.

The knock on the door, therefore, isn't exactly surprising, but is nice all the same. So, for that matter, is the dress that he finds Neil wearing when he opens it. "I was beginning to think you weren't going to show," he says, not meaning it in the slightest. "Come in, darling."

He opens the door and I smile brightly, and I know it looks softer on me now. The big eyes and heart-shaped face look almost doll-like, and coupled with the fact that I'm barely five feet tall, I've got this mischievous little girl look going, which apparently isn't actually turning anyone off.

"You didn't think I'd really stand you up, did you?" I ask, slipping inside and leaning just inside the door.

"Hard to be sure," Eames says, and in that, he's surprisingly genuine. Strictly speaking, no, he wouldn't have thought so, but with everything such a mess, half the islanders' lives turned upside down and Neil so fresh from another loss, it isn't as if it would have been fair to have any expectations. Hell, he probably wouldn't have anyway, not preferring to take anything of this nature that seriously. "But I'm glad you didn't. You look lovely."

"Think I'd have to be pretty fuckin' stupid to stand you up," I admit with a smirk, "Even if you are a girl right now."

'Cause sex with a woman has definitely proved fun in the past, but it always feels a little bit like it's missing something. Right now, though? I think I can handle the disappointment.

Smirking, I lift a hand and beckon him closer, murmuring a quiet, "Thanks." It actually feels really good, hearing him say that.
