Six Sleeps To Christmas!

Dec 19, 2009 15:53

It’s six sleeps to Christmas! And therefore, it is time to spread some holiday cheer, because I had a pretty great week and full excitement has just hit me this weekend. I have my pyjamas on, Christmas songs playing on YouTube, and it’s been snowing! I love Christmas time!

Firstly, the non-NCIS-related stuff, because I’ll get all rambly on that later! )

ncis episodes, life outside of lj, ncis general chatter

*adopts best Noddy Holder Voice* It's Christmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas!*

Hurrah for Christmas. And hurrah for your boss who sounds fabulous and lovely and fabulous.

The Gibbs & Jack stuff just about killed me ded this week. I so hope RW gets nom'd for a guest Emmy like CD did for Call of Silence. They were both so very good. The scene in the living room over the gun very nearly had me in tears.

Ducky was indeed adorable and awesome. I love how easily he can be blunt.

Bubblebutt!! There are no words.

I really hope the Daddy DiNozzo ep plays out well. The cynical part of me however doesn't think they can get two father/son stories right though.

Go write fic!

YAAAAAAY!

And she really is, if I got a hug from her every day I think I'd probably reach nirvana!

I would love for RW to get nominated - and I genuinely think MH deserves some award for the last ep, too, because he totally knocked it out of the ballpark. There have been a couple of occasions lately where I've thought he seemed a little bit lacklustre, but maybe he was just saving all his acting power for this episode?! Whatever it was, I haven't cried this much at TV since ... well, probably forever!

Bubblebutt! Yet another nickname for Tony - I think he appreciates Tony's lovely, round butt as much as we all do.

I know what you mean. I love what they did here but I'm kind of terrified about Tony. If it was practical to go about life with my fingers permanently crossed, they would be. Only ... 25 sleeps until Daddy DiNozzo - I wouldn't trust my arithmetic on that, though.

I'm pretty sure I'll be okay with most scenarios I can think of, but I'm keeping as many digits crossed as possible! I'm really looking forward to canonically finding out some of his backstory, though, it's been fun not knowing for years and getting a whole host of fics on the subject, a lot of which I love and will continue to love even if they get jossed, but he's pretty overdue for some actual enlightenment. Plus it looks like it's going to be meaty and not played for laughs or anything!

Oh, I love that picture! His eyes and lips look oh so pretty! Thanks for the link, I love RC's comments. According to my dodgy maths, it's only 25 sleeps to go!

I hope you get some more snow soon! It's so pretty - or at least it was, for the five minutes it was untouched before I let the dogs out. ;-)

Christmas! Yay!

That's a perfect description, we've just been waiting so long! I will die of happiness, then resurrect to read all the ace fic I'm hoping it'll inspire! I really want to find out about his mum.

That picture is still gorgeous, and means I can get excited about the next episode while we have to wait for the 150th!

I am crossing my fingers for snow for you - ours has turned a little bit crispy, now, but there's not enough to justify skipping work tomorrow. Ah well. I'll get to see my boss, which makes up for it! :-)

Just wanted to say that I've seen this entry and I am going to come back and leave a nice long reply to it but because my mind is so caught up in the Stargate universe at the moment its going to take a couple of days before I can process NCIS comments ;-) But I will be back!

I will look forward to it! And I quite understand getting caught up in SG-1, I noticed your new bookmarks on delicious and I'm really tempted to get out our DVDs and have a good, long re-watch! It was my mum's favourite show, but I was a bit too young to get fannish about it, so I think I could do with re-watching it all. My favourite character was Sam, at the time, though. But you have so many hours of good TV to watch, enjoy! Where are you up to? And you might then get distracted by the insanity that is SGA! Yay!

Hope you're well hon! :-)

I really recommend it. I am so hooked on it (as you can probably tell from the bookmarks), its not funny! And when I get obsessed with something I go a little crazy ;-) I am a major Daniel fan (and so much whump built into canon is fantastic!) and I have to admit that Sam annoys me a little, she's a little too perfect for my liking. I'm currently up to the end of season 6 which has been torture as there is no Daniel for most of the season, which would be like having no Tony. I'm hanging out until he comes back.

I think I'm going to need to take a little break before I dive into another show to recover and reconnect with the rest of my life but I will definitly give SGA a go.

If distracted by a new fandom is well then I'm fantastic :D
Same to you :-)

Hee, I'm secretly quite jealous of your obvious fandom squee! (But I'm also looking forward to hearing what you thought about Faith *g*) I was really quite young when it first started and mostly watched it distractedly, so my favourite characters could very well change! I've noticed there's a few feelings that Sam is yet another of those women on TV who the writers can't just let be a woman, they have to make her super special in some way (that whole thing makes me crazy!) but I think I was won over by her hair! Stop it, you're going to suck me in and I'm still finishing the NCIS S2 picspam! (It got wordy.) :-D

Ok, I'm back with NCIS comments (I banned myself from Stargate until I've caught up on everything I've been ignoring :-)

So Faith. Like I siad before I was bored for most of it. The case didn't get me interested at all. I guessed it would be the brother as soon as I saw him and I never get things like that right. Having Jackson back was nice though. I felt sorry for him for most it. Do you watch Bones? RW played Booth's grandfather recently and also burnt down part of the house. I wonder if he is getting sick of being cast as the old man who can't manage to a light a fire with out it getting out of control. :-) I loved the scene with Jackson and Ducky. Gibbs worst nightmare! And its interesting to see the softer, more patient side of Gibbs come out when dealing with his father ( ... )

Yay! I totally understand the SG love, but I'd miss the Tony chatter! :-)

I haven't heard many people say they didn't guess that the brother did it, LOL, and the plot was definitely clunky and not great! But I loved seeing Jackson so much that I noticed the plot's failings even less than usual, I was all about the father/son relationship. I just loved how Gibbs was in this episode; so far this season I've thought that he really seems to be trying to reconnect with his team, in a clunky, apple-cidery kind of way, and in this episode he was actually offering to talk to his dad. It was awkward and uncomfortable, but it was so nice to watch him try to do that, while still knowing it wasn't going to be easy. Just every second they were on screen, I was in love. ROFL at poor RW, though, I wonder if at Christmas he'll offer to help out with the cooking or the fire and his family will be all, "No! No! Just relax, as far away from flammable objects as possible!"

The Tony and McGee stories were totally aimed just at making us go awwww! but I ( ... )

If I can guess the bad guy then its bad, I never get it right so most of the time I don't even bother trying. I need to borrow some of your attitude, lately I've been focusing to much on the negaitives and they have started to overrule the positives. Oh yeah, Gibbs trying to talk to his father made me cringe, but in that good awkard way where you feel for the character and not the bad writing way. I think its a sign that he has really realised how important family is, and by extension the team. I just wish we knew why he's suddenly had this realisation ( ... )

I'm completely the same, I can never guess who the bad guy is. I make the excuse that I'm too focused on the characters or Tony's face, but really it's a total lack of observation skills! I think it's easy to get caught up in the negatives, especially when really we're pretty much watching the show really closely. So all the flaws are magnified along with the great stuff, and it's more upsetting to see because I think we really want to love our show! It might be one of the reasons that I loved the episode so much, because even though it was sometimes hard to watch Gibbs and his dad, it was so well done and affecting that for me, it made up for the plot failings! But I can be annoyingly Pollyanna, because there are flaws with the show and I'm awful for just ignoring them ( ... )

I think I'm one of the only people who wishes that the title were still Flesh and Blood. Flesh and Bone is just... ew. It makes me think of hacksaws and woodchippers. Blech ( ... )

Urgh, has it really been changed to Flesh and Bone? That doesn't even make any sense, surely? That's not a saying. If it's about family, Flesh and Blood is much more appropriate, especially if they're going to play up the substitute/real family divide - oh, and it's also less gross.

That's true, that's so true, the power sander thing is kind of an awesomely inappropriate and wrong, but still quite cute, present. Unless fanon is true and it was totally his secretary who sent him that because Daddy DiNozzo has no clue what his son likes or dislikes and just doesn't care! *flounce* But I would really like to see DD trying to win Tony back, and Tony being the one who's all, "Talk to the elbow," because somewhere along the line he realised he shockingly, loved loyalty and truth and yes, justice! far more than he loved money!

DD's suit is lovely, Tony definitely got his love of extortionate tailors from him. If they are going to be reconciling (and yes, OMG, the spoilers are kind of killing me, I can't remain calm and logical, without ( ... )
