I liked the prompt for today--"Why'd you pick your username?" I was random-articleing Wikipedia, and found a bunch of random stuff for titles (that's where Abkhazia, Resolute came from). The Little Red Book was Mao Zedong's famous whatsit--it's not actually "Little Red Book" in Mandarin, but Americans don't know any better, and I thought it was ( Read more... )

So you're the novelist!!!! I didn't check back on the Muslimgirls community, but i got the drift after reading your entries.

So you're learning Persian? Japanese? What languages are you not taking?

My brother is really into Iran in general. I respect the country: lovely culture, always gets a ton of backlash, nice people. But I just think he's delusional sometimes... he lies about being of Iranian heritage and claims our current heritage is "worse" and "unworthy." As a result, I've gotten a little wary of people who like Iran, lol. However, your love for Iran seems far more healthy. :)

I took ESL as a kid! I honestly don't remember how I learned English. I just remember a lot of coloring pictures and learning verbs.

Lol, Japanese isn't a useless language! Neither is Farsi, for that matter. Well, even if it isn't as widely-practiced, it doesn't hurt to learn, yes? I've learned Spanish so now I'm going to try to tackle French and German, but I'd like to learn as many as possible.

Deutsch! Mensch, ich kann dich helfen.

PFFT, my best friend remembers making a lot of pottery. XD Apparently, she learned English pretty quickly...? I should make a lot more dishware; maybe I'll learn something.

Oh, dear. Persians. XD Where is your family from, in actual fact? Iranians are so goony--they have to be the second-most hysterical ethnic group, after Greeks. I love them so much. At least your brother has a better chance of blending in--"white chick who looks like a boy" is a bit more difficult, I think. *weepz*

Lol? "Humans, I can help you?" XD

Yeah, I learned it in three months as opposed to the yearly course. I was only four and watched a lot of Sailor Moon in English in my spare time, though. That might be the reason why I did so well. ;D

My family's from Bangladesh, that little country by India people tend to forget. My mum's family is "apparently" from Afghanistan (this is coming from a grandmother who LOVED to exaggerate), but my brother always extends that further and says we're from Iran. -_-. He's mental, in my opinion.

Aw. Don't say that! Iranians tend to be fair-skinned and pretty progressive. My brother has a worse chance: dark, tanned Bangladeshi boy. :P

PFFT, so maybe you're Dari? Still Persian, just a bit darker. ^_~ I've never met anyone from Bangladesh! But now I suppose I have.

Oh, Sailor Moon. How I loved it so. XD Japanese animation used to confuse me a lot--I didn't know why there were large sweatdrops on their faces all of the time.

My friend and I were trying to figure out what color Iranians were today. With the help of Crayola crayons and a lot of drawing on his skin, we determined it was a mixture of Peach and Goldenrod. There's a word for it in Persian--I've completely forgotten what it is.
