The nifty feature of the game is that all moves are resolved simultaneously, and order resolution is strictly deterministic (no dice, superior force always wins, ties go to the defender). Players have 10-20 minutes per turn to negotiate with other players over what they claim they're going to do that turn, then submit written orders which are processed all at once.
Games are mainly won and lost in the negotiation phase, partially by your ability to make deals, but more so by your ability to bullshit convincingly and to pick the right moment to stab your allies in the back. The negotiation phase tends to run rather LARP-like.
