I tried to update last night, but the image hosting service had a glitch and wouldn't let me access my newly uploaded photos.
Snowfall total at the house
It is pretty, but that's a lot of snow!
Dude! Where's my car??
Despite all of the news stations screaming "Winter White-out" and the sheer number of people rushing to the grocery stores Friday night and Saturday morning to stock up on food (because they might not ever be able to leave their houses again .... but you know, if that's the case, why are there lines 10 cars deep at the gas stations so they can fill up???), it turned out to be, well ... not that bad.
By the time I got out of bed on Sunday, the roads (even the one in front of my house) were already clear. We went for rock-salt later in the day, and even the parking lots had been plowed pretty much down to the pavement, so there was really nowhere to have any fun in the Jeep.
The same
"Dude with the front end loader" that dug us out last January came by again, and saved us many hours of shoveling for a reasonable price (though one could argue that pretty much any price would be reasonable to not have to shovel 14" of snow). We finished clearing the driveway, cleared the front walk, and dug out the 1/4 of the Chow's kennel that isn't protected from the snow, which was plenty of shoveling by itself.
Overall, it's pretty. And falling on a weekend it didn't really get in the way of the workday commutes. But with temps climbing into the 50's by mid-week, I don't expect the bulk of it to be here for very long.
