Oh, gosh. You did it again! You wrote such a lovely, wonderful fic that was so in character it made my heart hurt with longing for this show and these people... (shhh, I'm in a maudlin mood right now). I love the way you write them as actual ADULTS with flaws and judgement and contradictions and everything that makes this realistic. And I wish this had happened! It seemed like it almost could have... Ah, Josh and Donna. They just have this quality that makes them them (and better than most) which you definitely captured in this. So well done. Are you getting sick of my gushing praise yet?
Hmm, so what are you going to write next? I'm going away for a month tomorrow so I might not read it for a while, but I'll be looking forward to it! Oh gosh, limited internet for a month? This is troubling. But enough about that. Lovely story! You're becoming one of my favourite Josh/Donna writers.
You know, I think people don't comment as much as they used to because it's been over a year since the show finished. Maybe less people read the fanfic, but certainly less people comment because of this, even if they do read it. Nothing wrong with the stories that are written, though
( ... )
Haha, of course Mulder and Scully. I prefer to pretend in my fangirlish heart that Season 9 never happened (Doggett? Reyes? Wha?) and that the series ended with the last ep of Season 8 (sigh). But anyhoo.
Have fun in the States! DC is wonderful, I've only been twice but it's one of the places I'd like to live sometime. Although sometimes when I get over-zealous with my desires to go plant myself in DC and work on the Hill, I must whack myself in the head until I realize that no, working in DC does NOT mean getting to hang with Josh and Donna and Sam and everyone else all day! Oh well.
I read your stories over at josh_and_donna and realised I hadn't actually gotten around to commenting.
I just wanted to say I enjoyed them a lot - well done.
And I hope you won't mind my asking if you use a beta? There are a few things with the tenses in this one that need sorting out... email me if you ever want anything looked over.
first- thank you!!! it's a great compliment, considering i love your fic recs and flawless taste.
second- no beta, and guh, this one needs an edit, i know. i decided to change it from past to present tense halfway through and missed a lot. as a major ocd tense-hound/grammar freak, it bugs me to NO END! MUST EDIT SOON. i'll def. consider sending some stuff over instead of getting fed up with things and hastily posting! thanks!
I know what you mean about being a grammar freak - I'm the same. My problem when I write is with actual words - like I'll spend hours trying to find exactly the one I want and being freaked out if I can't! Yet I can usually find them when I'm beta reading. Huh. Go figure.
Anyway, let me know - and if you want this one sorted out at some point, I'd be happy to help. caz963@livejournal.com.
I can't believe i haven't commented sooner, especially taking into account how many times i've reread this.
I love your style, there's no other way to put it, and Josh and Donna are just right. I love how Josh beats himself up about everything and how Donna gets it. I love that they are in the same page, and the comparision with Hoynes it just so damn clever.
It really is an amazing fic. I really hope you keep them coming cause they are just brilliant :)
