I was re-reading all of your fic again recently and I think I squealed when this appeared in the WW communities, today. Eeee.

So anyway.

I love that, in all of these, they're still Josh and Donna. Completely recognizable and believable and... awesome.

hehheh. thanks so much! the recognizable factor was what i was going for... i personally can't stand au's where you're like 'well, are they even the same people... do you even need the show to write this?'

But that's why real AUs are so difficult - because the challenge is keeping them in character in different situations, and it's why there aren't that many successful AU fics, IMO.

I think there are two kids of AU - the one where they're in a totally different "lifetime", which is what you've done here - and the sort I write, which I tend to refer to as "off-canon" because I don't think they really count as strictly AU (see vague definition above!)
