Sigh. This was quite nice.
I tend to avoid Season 5 since there’s so much stigma around it, but I found myself re-watching this and thinking, wow, BW is pretty awesome, here.
That's what I think about S5 as well...yeah, it's got its problems, some of them quite large, but Bradley. Whitford. Knocks it out of the freaking park.
I really like the feel of this piece--the inevitability, and the *care* is just great.
Minor edit check--there's something wrong with this sentence: "if it weren’t the middle of the night in one a bus"

LOVED this. So sad, so -whatsthatword- POIGNANT, and Josh so desperate and Donna so sphinx-like and cool and collected, pity-fuck and all, but she still loves him so much. The flashback to the Nebraska fields was so them, and, just. There's a poetry, a rhythem to your writing that's so freaking fabulous.
