Or rather we are idiots.  JM and I have been stupidly excited about a gig featuring Peggy Seeger, Grace Petrie, Leon Rosselson and others... and this morning I realised we were going to be away on the day.  Now JM is wondering who to surprise with the tickets.

I felt dumb and a bit worried.  Previously*, this would have caused some sort of scene

Isn't it nice when everything doesn't turn out to be a big Drama?

It's great it wasn't a drama. JM also loves Rosselson, but we think we have identified friends who'd love the gig almost as much as we would. Now I just need to drop Peggy a line to apologise as I had said I wouldn't miss this gig... Oops!

diaries can be cruel things sometimes. I hope you get to relax in the reality that it isn't a big scene (I know from experience that it can take a surprisingly long time to erode the expectation.)

I know just what you mean. I'm a habitual ducker, and still require warning if somebody is about to transport sharp knives. One day I'll realise I'm safe now...
