It seems I'm stuck here until I earn enough 'credits' to pay for my release. That should hardly be too difficult, as these computer lessons are easy enough to understand and pass quite quickly.

As for work, I wonder if doing odd jobs would be sufficient...? I'm not inclined to be gainfully employed, and I'm certain I'd be difficult to work with in

Nothing in particular, really. Whatever those who own the businesses ask of me. I'm well used to doing others... odd favours.

The ability to make yourself at home in any place is admirable, but finding yourself torn between two worlds is hardly the best of circumstances. You'll have to make a choice eventually.
