Blackfire was in the area when she saw the trees being destroyed. While she wasn't an environmentalist, nor was she a hero, it did make her curious. What Blackfire was, was a daredevil. She was the thrill-seeking sort who ran towards danger, rather than away from it.

When she finally saw the source of the destruction, she let out a short little laugh. "Geez. What did those poor trees ever do to you? I thought you were supposed to be the sort that protected the innocent."

*The look he gave her was at once tired and unusually fierce, and there was a hint of a growl in his voice as he said her name* Blackfire. They just... needed pruning, alright? So back off.

"Pruning?" said Blackfire. "Last I checked, pruning wasn't done by ripping them up by the roots."

She flew a little closer, hovering and looking on with great amusement. "What got your panties in a knot, Little Boy Green? Did they run out of kibble at the Titans' Tower?"
