Well, on the one hand it makes sense, because I think anyone will admit that women in general are just more pleasing to the eye (and touch) than men in general.
But beyond that, it's far more socially acceptable for women to be attracted to women than it is for men. A woman would not be considered "less of a woman" for admitting to attraction to other women; a man would be by much of society, so I don't doubt that comes into play, too.
