On one of our Sesame Street DVDs there is a skit involving Telly and Elmo, discussing heavy and light using bricks and feathers. At the end of the skit, Telly falls off-screen with an armload of bricks. This makes Martin upset ( Read more... )

"No shoes" while pointing at a picture in a "babies of the world" book of a bare-footed toddler.

He's also been counting, ie. moving his finger from one object to the next while saying "One, one, one." He's got the basic idea down.
Also. last night, he noticed for the first time that there are letters on the rug in his room, not just a random

Martin is hiding on the bed under the blankets. Ash touches his exposed knee.
Ash: I see a leg. Is it Martin's leg?
Martin: No.
Ash: Really? Whose leg is it?
Martin: Nine nine.
Ash: Agent Ninety-nine the cat?
Martin: Yeah.

There is 18 inches of snow (and still falling!), the cats have cabin-fever, and the toddler has just learned the word "No!"

He's been going to daycare for a month now, three days a week, and he's really settled in. Little to no fuss when we leave him in the morning, little to no fuss when we pick him up.

It is not Compartment Syndrome. It is Pronator Teres - Carpal Tunnel's lesser known cousin.

A course of physiotherapy and maybe some minor outpatient surgery at most. They still need to do some sort of electrical nerve test to confirm, but it isn't terribly serious. Painful, but not threatening life and limb.

It's kinda hot today. Even with the air conditioner pumping, a handful of people have slipped their shoes off. Martin walked three steps from me towards Ash today.

Unfortunately, Ash was more than three baby-steps away so Martin lost balance before reaching his destination.
