Help: Advice on Potty Training and Diapers

I'm afraid lindylousmith's right, Heidi is ready for something I've been dreading -- potty training. If anyone out there has some good tips, I'd appreciate it.

Also, what kind of diapers or training gear can you go to when the largest (Costco Size 5) diapers are proving to be slightly too small at times to go all the way through naptime/nighttime?

Thanks for the tips! Do you have anything more specific about tools "We used XYZ on top of the big toilet." or "We used a kids potty." or "We used pull-ups." Oh, and what to do when you're out and about.

We've already been at the point of changing her diaper right before she goes down. So short of waking her up in the middle of things, there's not much more I can do except see if there's something bigger out there.

How I have come to the realization that she's up for toilet training:
She's express LOTS of interest in everything potty related -- toilet etiquette, changing her stuffed animals, letting us know when she is going (or has just gone) to the bathroom in her pants, when her diaper needs to be changed, saying "Mommom" then signing "stinky". She knows when her diapers are wet or poopy.
