Hmmm...

There are 199 Starbucks within a 20 mile radius of my apartment. I'm not sure if this number includes the Starbucks that are inside stores like Safeway or Fred Meyer, so the real number might be even higher. To narrow it down a bit, there are

On the other hand, it did lead to the most awesome visual joke ever in Shrek 2 when the crowd ran from one "Starbucks" on one side of the street into the "starbucks" on the other side of the street! So all is well.

I'd imagine that they'll do fabulously for as long as Americans continue to neglect the relaxation time that they really should have and keep pushing to work longer and harder.

...that our schedules demand more energy that most people naturally have, so the need for energy (coffee) and relaxation (just hanging out at a coffee shop) will remain constant.

My favorite instance of multiple Starbucks' in the same area is in downtown Salem. There is a store at each end of a city block! Craziness!
