I'll just update this post as questions arise, but I thought of a couple that might come up eventually.
What if there's a fanfic that's already been written that exactly matches (or is really close) to the idea someone posted?
I'm sure the poster would love to have a link to the story.
What if several ideas are posted for the same fandom that are very similar?
If they are only similar, each idea having one or two unique characteristics, then it's no big. If they are exactly the same, then I will refer the second poster to the first post, and two great minds can get to know one another.
Are slash and femslash welcome?
Yes. Any and all pairings are welcome.
What constitutes a mature theme where I should use an lj-cut?
Instead of making a list, which I'm sure would never be complete, just please use good judgement. If it's something you wouldn't want young eyes to read about, even if it's not explicit, just do a cut and warn to be on the safe side.
What if I want to use an idea in a different fandom (pairing) than it was originally posted for?
The intent of this community is to inspire by the sharing of ideas. As I'd hope everyone would understand, inspiration can have a mind of its own and if they're posting their idea they're giving the okay for people to use it as they will. In other words, if you're inspired by an idea posted here, feel free to let that inspiration take you where it will, regardless if it's for the fandom, pairing, or even the same direction the original poster intended.
