Indeed, an excellent cat. Do you have a good source for glass up there? I always had to make do with leftover scraps, which was all the hobby stores seemed to have.
Yep--taking lessons at a place around a mile from my house called "Covenant Art Glass". Not only do the have an amazing selection, but they have nightly classes which are reasonably priced (about $10 per 3 hour class) where you can get help from people who've done a LOT of this, and you get to use their spensive tools--grinders, saws, lead-stretchers, etc.
Thanks all for the comments--and I agree--the cat turned out pretty well! It was fun looking for the right patterns in the glass.
I took a class awhile back, but it was mainly about making little suncatchers .. little hot-air balloons & dolphins & such that hung in the window from a suction cup or fishing line. For weight purposes it was better to use copper foil for those - lead adds a whole 'nother level of difficulty.
And it was just a local hobby store - I rarely found larger pieces of glass, and rarely in the colors I really wanted. 'Course, that was a long time ago.
