Yeah, I can remember reading some of his essays in high school and being very impressed.

In one of my favorite obscure sci-fi trilogies, computers have become self-aware, and need a religious framework to keep the human space-dwellers in line. They end up using Einstein's political and moral teachings -- and kind-a promote him to equal status with Jesus, a carnate manifestation of the holy spirit. That's just a sub-plot, though.
