Toboe was out of breath. He had tried as best as he could to quietly sneak out after Haruka fell asleep. He felt bad for leaving like that in the middle of the night, but his hunt had been successful. He had found exactly what he was looking for. A single red rose he had borrowed from a garden. He had followed his nose all the way to it. He still didn't quite understand Valentine's day, but he had gotten some of the concepts. And one of those was that Roses made girls smile even more than usual on this day. And he wanted to make Haruka smile. His face heated up again, the way it did when his pack had first met Cheza. Really, who could not love flowers? They smelled so wonderful.
Quietly, Toboe opened the door and snuck back into Haruka's room, holding the Rose as delicately as he could. He wanted to make her smile. He would just place it on her pillow and curl back up next to her bed. Like a secret admirer's gift. Another blush touched his cheeks. It would be wonderful to talk to Haruka, but he still remembered well how the first girl he had revealed himself too had responded. He wasn't sure he could handle Haruka hating him too. Nervously, slowly, Toboe placed the rose near Haruka's pillow, so she would see it when she woke.
Then he could just lay back down and sleep until morning, as though nothing had happened...
