I haven't listened to the entire soundtrack, but I've listened to a few full songs and clips from all of them, and I've read all the spoilers for the show, so I think I have a pretty good grasp of what's going on ( ... )

When I think of "Beneath a Moonless sky" I'm almost getting an image of Christine returning Leroux style-- where the Persian published the "Erik is dead" ad-- and I take it from there. I can't really justify that to someone else; but that's how I see it. I'm a believer that they're relationship was a bit more adult and romantic in nature than anyone else, especially after the song "Past the Point of No Return". But again, that's not something I can justify. It's just a personal feeling ( ... )

My best advice? Open minded, perhaps completely forget the predecessor for a few hours and take it as a completely original aspect of musical theater. Because if you spend time comparing them you're going to be sorely disappointed.

Don't worry, there are moments where I'm still asking that same question. LOL. I think he's going to have us all questioning the motives behind this for a long time to come.

I thought I'd leave my thoughts on the soundtrack here with you. I was really pissed when I heard at first they were bringing out a sequel because as a fangirl who has loved Phantom since she was ten, my first thought was 'omg, what has Andrew been smoking? You can't top PHANTOM!' And having read Phantom of Manhattan, thinking it was going to be COMPLETELY based on that, I panicked, so when the soundtrack came out, I rushed out to buy it ( ... )
