Title: Turning Red and Blue
Pairing: Kyusung
Rating: G
Disclaimer: I'm from Ohio...not too many hot korean idols to own or make money of off. So do you think I'm doing that with these boys?...didn't think so
Summary: Jongwoon finds the perfect way for Kyuhyun and him to spend the hot day,
~
"Hyung! It's soooo hot!" Kyuhyun whined as he was sprawled out on the couch in only a pair of shorts. Kyuhyun looked around the room when her didn't get a reply before calling out again. "Hyung?" Still nothing. Kyuhyun got up and wandered around the dorm looking in each room looking for his hyung. "Jongwoon hyung?" There was no trace of the older man anywhere in the dorm and Kyuhyun finally stopped and asked the first member he found. "Ryeowook hyung, where is Jongwoon hyung?"
"He said he was going out for a while." Ryeowook answered, sitting on his bed reading a book.
"Did he tell me that?"
"Yup."
"Did I answer?" Kyuhyun tried to think back to a little earlier in the day when Jongwoon might have left.
"If giving a light grunt and an almost attempt at a wave while you were eating your popsicle counts, then yes." Ryeowook never once looked up from his book during the entire conversation and Kyuhyun left obviously not getting any interest from his hyung.
"Where could he have gone? And why did he leave me here to suffer in the heat alone?" Kyuhyun wondered out load as he sat back down on the couch.
"You're not alone!" Ryeowook shouted from his room.
"Well I don't see you suffering!"
"That's because you've been sitting in the living room ignoring everyone. You barely even noticed Jongwoon hyung leave. And I went out and bought a fan!" Kyuhyun decided against shouting back again but instead stuck out his tongue at the room, knowing that Ryeowook couldn't see it.
Kyuhyun just sighed and leaned back into the couch again, not knowing what else to do. He was brought out of daydreams when his phone beeped to alert him of a text from Jongwoon.
'I'll be home soon. Get ready to leave.
p.s. wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty'
"What's that suppose to mean?" Kyuhyun spent a few minutes just staring at the text, before listening to the instructions and putting on some older clothes that he wouldn't mind if they got ruined.
"Kyuhyun!" Jongwoon called out as he walked into the dorm. "Are you ready?"
"I suppose?" The magnae answered, but it was more as a question.
"Good. I'm going to set these bags down in my room and then we'll go." Jongwoon walked right past Kyuhyun to his room, bags in hand.
"Go where?"
"It's a surprise." He answered, having changed his clothes as well.
"Will I like it?" Kyuhyun was a little skeptical as he was dragged out of the apartment.
"I wouldn't be taking you there if I didn't think you would like it. Don't you trust me at all?"
"I trust you, I just don't like not knowing where I am going. Especially since I don't want to be out in the hot sun. It's worse then being in the hot house."
"I'll make it all better. Don't worry." Kyuhyun stayed quiet and just let Jongwoon drag him along in the hot sun all the way to the park. Set up in the middle of an open field in the park were a couple of cardboard box forts and a line dividing the area in half. "Tada!"
"You built forts?"
"Yup."
"Why didn't you ask me to help?"
"Because you would've complained about the heat. And that doesn't make the surprise as much fun."
"Forts are the surprise?"
"No...the forts are being used in the surprise. The surprise is a water balloon fight. At each fort there are multiple cases of water balloons at the ready. But the special catch is that each balloon is filled with colored water that will color your clothes. And there is no crossing the center line. Got it?"
"Wait are we seriously doing this here and now?" Kyuhyun asked both excited and confused at the same time.
"Yup. Your fort is that one." Jongwoon said pointing over at one of the forts. "And mine is that one." He said pointing to the other. "Now...battle START!" Jongwoon shouted and immediately ran towards his fort.
Kyuhyun was shocked and caught off guard for a moment before he quickly ran over to the other fort, finding four boxes full of colorful balloons waiting for him. Kyuhyun didn't have any time to get his thoughts together as the first water balloon hit his fort and managed to splash him a bit. Kyuhyun looked at the part of his shirt that was hit only to see it turning red from it's usual white. Without a moment to lose, Kyuhyun grabbed a couple of the balloons and crouched down in his fort, just barely peaking over the top for the perfect moment to strike. He watched as Jongwoon stood up, ready to throw another, and quickly decided to lob one across the field.
"Haha you missed!" Jongwoon shouted. Kyuhyun looked over to see the remains of his balloon about a foot in front of the older's fort and quietly cursed to himself. Kyuhyun tried the same tactic a second time but threw it a little harder and could instantly hear the older grunt from being hit.
"Serves you right for making fun of me!" And no sooner were the words out of his mouth that a water balloon came down right on top of him.
"Well two can play that game!" Kyuhyun stood up, water balloons in hands and glared at the laughing man across the field. Kyuhyun threw another balloon straight at his hyung, which hit him square in the stomach,
"Got you!" Kyuhyun laughed as he same the bright blue patch now on Jongwoon's stomach. Jongwoon glared back at the magnae and quickly reached down and threw two balloons in rapid fire. Kyuhyun dodged the first one but was immediately hit by the second.
The two stared at each other for a minute waiting to see what the other would do, before they both reached for more balloons and began attacking as quickly as they could. By this point it was a full out war as the two dove in and out of their forts trying to hit each other. Kyuhyun began using both arms to throw the ball even though his left arm is weaker and missed most of the time. Because of this, Kyuhyun ended up running out of balloons sooner and hiding in his fort as Jongwoon lobbed his remaining water balloons over.
"I'm out!" Jongwoon shouted.
"So am I!"
"Good cause the sun is beginning to set and the others might wonder where we are." Jongwoon said as he emerged from his fort, crossing over into Kyuhyun's territory. "You look so funny covered in red like that, especially your hair. Though you know, you might try to dye it with a red tint next time. I think it'll look good."
"You just call it funny, and then you say it'll be a good look?"
"Well the whole look together right now looks funny, but the color in your hair isn't."
"I know I said that you should dye your hair blue sometime, but don't pick this shade. The light blue is just too weird for you."
"You know, I never agreed to dying it blue."
"But you're willing to dye it pink?"
"I was bored." Jongwoon shrugged and began picking up all the balloon remains. "Now help me pick this up so we can head home."
"And what will the others say when we come home dripping blue and red?"
"We have time to dry off in the sun before that." Jongwoon smiled and ran off to the other fort again to pick up the balloons over there.
~
"I think I won." Jongwoon announced as they were walking home, mostly dry now.
"And I think you had more balloons then me."
"I did not, we each had four boxes for fifty balloons each, so two hundred total each."
"Did you really fill four hundred water balloons up? And dye each and every one of them?"
"Yup, that's why I was gone most of the morning. And after a while it just became rhythmic and went so much faster."
"Well thank you." Kyuhyun said and kissed Jongwoon on the cheek. "It definitely helped cool me down, and it was fun turning you blue. Though I can't say that I liked turning red in return."
"I can say turning you red was fun though." Jongwoon laughed a bit but stopped Kyuhyun to give him a proper kiss on the lips to stop his pouting. "Now...race you home!" Jongwoon shouted and took off running, once again catching Kyuhyun off guard and he went chasing after Jongwoon.
A/N: Wrote some Kyusung fluff to help us all cheer up from Yesung's enlistment. Naz gave me the prompt of an unusual date and looking for ideas on that I ended up on a water balloon fight after seeing a similar idea on building forts and what not (though they didn't say water balloon fight, but I liked it and it's getting hot and whatever).
So I hope this cheers everyone else up too.
It's only two years, we'll make it. Must write lots of Kyusung in the meantime.^^
Comment please. (You can spazz to me about missing Yesung, I'll spazz/cry with you)
