Summary: Heechul wants an answer.
Heechul's POV
I’ve known him for almost three years now. He joined the company about a year before I did and even though he’s Chinese you would think he spoke Korean by now. He confuses me all the time. I saw him one day talking with some of the other trainees and aside from a few mistakes, his Korean was understandable. A few days later I found him with the same group but this time he didn’t seem to be able to keep up with the conversation or speak Korean. That was not long after I met him.
A couple months ago the company started the Super Junior project and placed us both in the group with ten other guys. The company had urged us to share a couple of dorms and even though I was opposed to it, I ended up sharing an apartment with him and another member I knew who had joined the company around the same time as me.
Before we had even moved in together, I knew I liked him and it barley even took a week together for me to realize that I love him. Though I probably won’t tell him of my feelings in the near future. In the couple of months we’ve lived together I’ve noticed more and more how he all of a sudden doesn’t understand or speak Korean. It is the one thing about him that just annoys me, I know he can speak Korean well. The biggest issue I have with it is that, it doesn’t happen when he comes back from visiting his family, it seems completely random.
Today he stayed later to work with a few of the other members on some dance steps or something, while the rest of us had already finished our schedules. Our third roommate left as soon as we finished while I had stayed after to wait. I had to wait for two hours before I noticed some of the guys leaving but I knew he was going to be one of the last ones out. When he had finally emerged from the room with the monkey kid a lot of people call the dance machine, he didn’t even realize I was waiting for him. I followed them out of the building knowing they would have to split up when they got outside because our apartments are in different directions. There was a small alley next to the building in the direction of our apartment so as soon as I could I pulled him into the alley and pushed him against the wall. He quickly got into a defensive pose but relaxed when he noticed that it was me.
I started questioning him as soon as he let his guard down. "Whatthehellisupwithyou? Whyareyoualwayspretendingyoudon’tspeakKorean?"
"I don’t know what you’re saying."
"That! Whatiswiththat?"
"Heechul calm down. I can’t understand you."
"IknowyouspeakKoreansostoppretending."
"Heechul!" he yelled at me while grabbing my shoulders to stop me from pacing back and forth.
"What?"
"I don’t think anyone can understand you with how fast you’re talking. What are you trying to ask?"
"Why do you always act like you don’t understand Korean when I know you do?" I asked slower this time but still with a stern voice.
"Ohh that’s just a defense mechanism. I tend to act like I don’t understand in unfavorable situations. So when people are teasing me or I don’t want to answer a question. But please don’t tell anyone else."
"So why are you telling me if you don’t want anyone else to know?" I noticed him freeze up a bit when I asked this.
"I umm I…Wo ai ni." There he goes again, reverting back to pretending he doesn’t speak Korean. Lucky for him I know what that means. I blushed a bit and turned away.
"I love you too." I whispered and wasn’t sure if he could hear me, but when I looked back at him he had a soft smile on his face so I knew he did. I just huffed but grabbed his hand, lacing our fingers together, and started leading him home. "Come on, we better get back before Kibum forgets he has roommates again."
A/N: Wrote this a while ago and just hadn't posted it. Kinda fluffy in a way. Hope you like it. Comments are loved.
