just spent a week and a half at the boy's grandparents' cottage. hung out, fished, ate a lot of bbq'd stuff... and now, without further ado, i shall attempt to post ( photos behind a cut. )
ok. not a bad first attempt, i guess. except that my captions got lost somewhere.
the first photo is a bass caught last week, and the second is a whitefish i caught back in march. (i had said i'd post ice fishing pics back then but didn't bother learning how until today.)
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! my mom's gonna find that hilarious.
no, actually i caught my first fish last summer (and ice fished for the first time this last winter), but my guy has been fishing since he was a little kid. he's the outdoors-man, but he shares his knowledge and his gear and so i do pretty well. it's a lot of fun, but i still hate the bugs, and i'm still pretty wary of handling pike.
(as for the size of the second fish, it is big, but not ridiculous for the time of year and the depth we were fishing.)
well judging from those pics you would never know you just started fishing:) Hey I totally hate bugs too. You should see me jump up and down when I see them in the garden. I am TRYING to get over the bug phobia bit by bit. S
thanks! i've been taught well. ;) i've kinda given up on trying to tolerate bugs. my fear of wasps (and other stinging things) is rooted in some heavy childhood trauma. as for the others, well, biting flies are annoying and mozzies can carry disease, so they can all buzz off as far as i'm concerned. long live the bug suit!
last summer was my first time (since childhood, anyway.) apparently there's a lot of fishing in the city, too. i've only tried it once here and it's not quite the same as relaxing on a boat while inhaling fresh air, but it's still fishing.
