cooking fiasco

SO I normally pride myself on my cooking but I have decided today that I hate the oven in our apartment... I turned it on what the dial said was 350 degrees. I put the banana bread that I made (from scratch no less) and went to play on the computer. I started to smell something burning and I went to check on the banana bread and opened the oven and

As Alton Brown frequently says "Never trust an oven!" Sorry to hear about your banana bread, I am sure it would have been delicious.

Perhaps that sweet boyfriend of yours could get ya a "Hang in oven
type of thermometers to measure the temperature. I have one of those, and its incredibly worth it.
