A new milestone

We are still looking for the perfect house. Jim has been working a lot to save up for it, but I miss him terribly. Maggie has been much better lately. She is not so fussy. It is hard to believe that my baby is 4 mos. old already. I am thinking I may go back to work atleast part time. We could use the extra money with the holidays coming and all but ( Read more... )

you might want to try mixing the cereal with some fruit :) I do that for Dylan and he loves it! I usually mix bananas or applesauce in it and he gobbles it down :)

yes, I did just start to do that. It works but she gets full fast so I just give her a small amount.

Becarful of posting things about feeding soilds before 6 months, formula, letting your baby cry it out...I learned the hard way that those are some touchy subjects. I go reamed up and down for not breastfeeding...It was a battle. Finally I just quit readind the bs and let it go. I am an open person and I understand not everyone in this world will do things the way I do but I sure as hell do not stomp all over them for not doing it my way. I fed both my boys baby food at 4 months and they are just fine. I will start Kendall as soon as she can sit up and if the dr said it is ok this early with her reflux. I listen to a few people...one of the main ones being my Dr. he did not got to school all those years for squat.....Just thought I'd warn you cuz it is not fun to be in the middle of drama!!

Well my doctor said that was just fine. He said baby food at 4 mos and to start with a small amount of veggies first. I have been giving her cereal since 2 mos. The doctor said that the only reason for not giving food is because of food allergies. We do not have a risk since allergies do not run in our family. Maggie tolerates formula just fine also. I managed to survive and I don't care what others think. I am a new mom but I am not going to kill my baby. Maggie is starting to get her front teeth and is gnawing on everything. I don't even think I will feed baby food for long once she gets teeth. I am a nurse. I know what is good for my baby. From what I understand with reflux, cereal is better for a baby with reflux, and the chances of an allergy to cereal are slim to none. With food you don't go gung ho, but one at a time. Geez! Sorry to hear you had a bad experience ( ... )

I feel the same way. I think some people go too much on book they read or other stuff. It is amazing that when we were children we managed to survie with our cribs painte dwith lead paint, getting fed food early, crib with too big of slates in them and so on...I listen to my gut and dr..plus this is my 3rd not my first so I have been down this road twice. Some peole just think they know it all!!!!
